TAMIYA Item # 24317

A car.....this will be my next build and challenge. Yes, a challenge....

Paint a clean, shiny and polished model is, certainly, some kind of modelling out of my comfort zone :)

Once opened the box, the kit looks fine. Well....in fact, I suppose it! Is my first sport car ....

When I observe the other member builds, I’m always looking for the brakes!! If the modeller did the holes on the brakes, that means he/she is building a detailed model. :P

So the first thing I did was looking for the brakes discs. What...?! No holes marked....?! 10 points less for Tamiya I thought.... But then, after a fast read, I realized the brake discs are ceramic made!! Oppss

The sprues set ;)

The chassis is metal made. His weight is bigger than all the sprues together!!

The decal sheet and other stuff needed.

The rubber tyres.

The black sprues are for the chassis and inner parts.

Silver ones for the body.

The carbon fiber front spoiler.... (the kit hasn’t any carbon fiber decal sheet....)

View attachment 246332

The crystal items.

The chromed items.

The instruction book is,as always, the habitual Tamiya one.

The idea is build it out of box. For me, the challenge and the major work is the paint job.

I will paint it on this light metal colour.

Ok!! I have a car....some paints and a wish to start it!! But first I need to clean the workbench :D

Thanks for looking! And for any future help!!

Looking forward to see what you do with it Polux, never done a modern car kit but they appear to be getting really good kits.

I doubt I'd be able to give you any help Polux but I'm going to watch

Yep!

Officially I’ve started this one :)

I take a first “contact” with the chassis and the engine. As a Tamiya kit all fits perfectly.....fantastic!

After comparing the references photos, the yellow triangles is where I have to add different bits....they look really empty now.

The engine is a beauty.....and this model gives the possibility to open the entire bonnet to show it. So it’s important to take care on the underside part for a future views. I added plastic putty to correct the moulding holes (not sanded yet).

Polux I hate you ;) , I have had this model for over 3 years and never wanted to do it! (I was going to sell it on here) but after seeing this thread and watching it coming along I am having second thoughts now :P

If you did decide to sell it how much would you be looking to get for it
