Wow, Francesco, you you must have macro-eyes for that level of detail in 1/72. The scratch work is awesome, the fading/salting looks spot on to me.

Just amazing.

Let me say thank you with a small update.

The main rotor is now complete (just few scratches to be fixed and a couples of tubes to reglue).

I moved my attention to the tail rotor, especially in the pitch system which not reproduced in the kit. To represent it I used the pitch levers from Eduard PE bending them a little and shortening the links, then I scratched the shaft (missing) and protection for the levers (totally wrong).

The result you can see below together with the real one.

Thank you mates.

I'm closing the fuselage today, I need to speed up as it's already three months since I started it (with the Sherman in between).

Not so good Ian, not so good.

Happy Sunday mates.

Just to let you know I'm alive and modeling.

Current status:

• fuselage closed

• added third arm to the swash plate (missing in the kit!)

• moved handrail on the roof (straight in the kit, but with the front shifted to the right in reality)

• modified APU air intake (front too thick, back closed in the kit)

• modified air intake over turbine 3 (too rounded in the kit)

• modified support for the bottom cranes (should be attached on center line and closed when not in use)

• added some PE

• added skid training arm to the cabin roof

• shortened main rotor shaft (too tall in the kit)

Mistakes/forgotten:

• Opened the fuselage under the grilles (now you can see side to side through them)

• Not opened the fuselage under the APU grilles (at least you can't see through, see above)

• glued sponsons before closing the fuselage. to get a good fit I inadvertently deformed the bottom middle of the fuselage forcing me to use a lot of putty to properly close the fuselage (and losing rivets)

Next steps:

• cockpit and windshield assembly

• fuselage final assembly (antennas, pitots, etc.)

• final primer

Thank you for reading and hope you like it

Francesco

Looking great Francesco.

As for the vast amounts of putty. I think you might be exaggerating just a bit.

Cheers.

Nåh! ALL that. Trust me I have seen much worse. LOL

Still if its got to fit, there are often no other options.

Ciao

Thank you for stopping by and writing.

Cockpit completed (lower part). Unfortunately I sprayed some primer over the cockpit floor, even if not visible I will try to recover.

Landing gear complete.

Tomorrow some pictures.

Francesco

Amazing work Francesco, only a little error and easily rectified. Lucky it wasn't on clear parts. The cockpit looks great, as do the wheels with the extra bits.
