I started this a month ago while on a couple of night shifts. I was going to do an OOB but once I started putting bits together I found I didn't like the cabin area. This was mainly due to the landing gear struts being visible in the cabin wich they are not on the real thing. Also there is a lack of seating around the gunnery windows.

So needless to say I am going to rectify these problems with a few scratch built pieces. I have added some guide blocks so the bits of the cabin stay in place when it comes to dry fitting side wall pieces. it will also serve to hold the cabin tight when sticking the fuselage halves together.

Andy you could well be right there it will be a slow build so I can gt it right. I am thinking of scratch building the whole of the rear cabin so inside all that will be original will be the cockpit. The inside of the pilots doors will get a bit of attention as well. All in all it should be fun.

I have added some air dry clay to fill out the inner parts around the cabin doors and gunners windows. This still needs rubbing down and a bit of scrbing doing to get it how I want it. I have also added some air dry between the instrument panel and the nose to block the void. This was done so you can't see through from one side to the other on the nose windows. For same bit below floor level I might do the same and add the detailing ie:the holes that are found in that area. Either that or I will scratch build the bits.

I have now started on scratch building the seats for the cabin. These are being made from styrene tin foil and wire. The two poles on top of the seats will be removed and some fine wire will replace them. As in the real chopper these seats have bracing wires on the top and underneath. Once put together and painted they will be put in the two gunnery positions and the third is situated between the two of these.

I have now finished the seats and finally got them stuck in place after a bit of a fiddle. I am also making some stowage boxes that go behind the pilots seats along with a couple of fire extinguishers and gunner post first aid bags.

It's getting there Andy. Before xmas I decided not to tackle more than one build at a time. That went out of the window the moment I opened two other kit boxes. so progress is slow on the build front.

The storage boxes and fire extinguishers are now finished and mounted in the cabin. I still have a couple of bits to add before I shut the fuselage up and move on to the rest of the build.

When I get home tomorrow pictures will be added to this post. The fuselage halves have been fused together but I hadn't noticed the nose joins had slipped leaving a step that will now need to be sanded out. I thought taping them would hold them true but it failed and the slip wasn't visible until the tape was removed.

I have also opened up a couple of parts on the intakes that were moulded as solid parts.
