I've spent all week on this and I'm farly pleased but I think it's Tim to move on to resin as I can't get the hang of half and half figures no matter what I do I can't remove the seams

This is basically the same kit as the praetorian guardsman but with a different helmet, I've improved on painting steel though and my clothing shading has improved

My faces are still a struggle but at least my eyes on straight

Here's the pics and comments welcome

That's a thousand time better than I could do Alan great work with the painting.

He looks very mean.

Very nice work all round Alan.

The metals look good and the shading of the Red is very well done.

As for the eye's if you were to put a very light reddish/pink line just above the lower lid and just below the upper lid it will enhance the eye's and make them look less staring. :) .

This is not a criticism, just a bit of help.

Have a look at this.It is for larger figures but can be used for smaller scales.

All the best.

Your right Ian and Peter he does look like someone's nicked his lunch

Great figure, really nicely done. :)

I've got a miniart richthoften figure in my Christmas stash!

Great work Alan, a vast improvement on yer first but thats only to be expected, keep pluggin at the face and the eyes, bit more to do but you are on the right track :)

Well I think it's awesome, I can't paint figures to save my life, well done mate.

I understand in some ways where your coming from on your comments Alan but I am only a wee novice compared to a lot of modellers on here and what I see from your stock is nothing but pure excellence every figure you do I'm amazed at. I think at times you can be a bit harsh on your work as its better than most figs I've seen full stop!!!

Kindest regards

Robert

I tried a new wash on the face and it looks terrible on the close up I think I'll go back to oils you get a smoother look
