I think over-engineering is how many manufacturers are going these days Graham - Dragon, Meng, Broncos, Takom... soon we'll need a masters degree from MIT to build a kit! ;)
Think with the more detailed kits to show more info of the internal structure gives us more posing this to show what we can turn them into with dios etc ( making the grey matter work more....... Time for a snooze!!!!

;) ;) ;)

This looks like a nice kit and the build so far looks very detailed. I've never built a Valentine before so I'll be watching in case I can pick one up.

That radio detail in the turret looks really nice.

I'm onboard if there's any room left

Plenty of room Robert and Ian, anyone brought beers? :) . The radio is even nicer when the photo etch guard frame goes on.

Managed a bit of time at the bench today so I continued on with the seemingly never ending Valentine.

Loads of parts again to build up the gorgeously detailed suspension. Pity it is wrong and so slated in the modelling forums, the large wheels are 1mm too small and the spacing of the wheels is slightly too big.

Do I care? Not one jot. I don't, and never will, enter into competitions so as long as it looks like a Valentine when completed I will be happy.

None of the wheels are glued on as it all pivots at the moment and I need to ensure alignment befor fixing in place. I love the drive wheels with the external finned brake drums.

Front and rear hull plates are now on and a bit more work on the turret. The turret top is not glued on yet as I have to paint the inside first. I have also put a dummy bulkhead in behind the turret as I didn't want the void to be visible through the large hatch.

There is something almost prehistoric about this lovey tank especially the back end.

Just a few more bits, then the tracks and it's time for primer.

Me to Polux, been a bit of a slog for such a small kit but I don't want to rush it now :)

This is taking up far too much time, I have projects I want to start lol. To speed up a bit, I have decided to close it up. The interior detail is nice but incomplete. I have recently seen a build showing just how much more has to be added to get it right, including a turret basket.

So, I have closed it up and got on with the paint. I know it looks patchy and not well painted but that is down to pre shading and thin paint. The filters and weathering will bring it to life, I hope:oops:

Got the black (it will be a dark grey) camo to do and 196 track links to cut off and clean up and assemble into four sections per side. But at least the last furlong is in sight..... if you use powerful binoculars :(

I don't envy you for those track links Graham, but this is coming along very nicely.

You've got some paint down, which is the end of the beginning Graham ;)

Individual tracks are a bit of a pain, but worth it in the end.
