minitnkr AH64 Apache ROCO 1/87

Thread owner
I've built one of these before & made a hash of it, so hopefully lessons learned. They did a very poor job on the 3cm auto cannon & do not include a crew. The paint guide has nothing for the office or the sensors so will have to search for examples. ...and so it begins.

Good luck this time around. I didn't image that you could buy helicopters in this scale.

Jim, ROCO offered 1/87 Hueys, Cobras, & Jolly Greens. Bananas & Chicasaws(?) are also available in 1/87, but I don't know the makers offhand.

Acoupleacobras, never quite finished the Jolly Green & the incomplete Apache I gave up on. The Hueys are in the VN dio 'Buzzin the Groundlings'.

I'll prolly finish the Apache with the new one if I can find enough pilots & junk to do the 30s properly.

Sorry about the lack of progress, but my fingers don't work well under 58F. The cave got down to 52F at one point. Just too cold to work, so caught up on some reading.

I know the feeling paul , the cold shed often slows my builds too , the irony is that when its summer and warm enough to go in the shed I’m usually sat in the sun with a beer ! ( i bet your fingers work well enough round a cold one of those ! ;):smiling5:) cheers tony

No good trying to model when it's cold Paul, you could of course attempt to sneak into the upstairs with out being caught !

The upstairs is full of stuff for the bathroom tear-out as the contractor had a death in the family & had to take local family down south for the services. "Bebackinaweek" he said Wednesday.

That's a shame, can't be helped I suppose. Hopefully all will be well when he returns Paul.

Well now that the layout Covid sections are removed & Spring has sprung, I can start the chopper build.
