Just got a parcel from model hobbies. Apart from contents there was a mini magazine from Italeri showing some of the goodies we can expect in the year.

The 1/35 scale MTB is the Vosper 72"6' MTB 77. Thats one for the collection.

A new Sunderland mkI flying boat in 1/72 in the PRM series looks rather nice.

As does the Mk I Hurricane in 1/48. Lets hope thats a good one.

Any one remember the spitfire bomber/Beer delivery system.... Jep in 1/48, leave off the kegs and you got a nice little IXc in 1/48.

Re-releases give us the tonka F3, the S-33 A/B Viking. The Kamov Ka 50 chopper and the AH-1W Super cobra too all in 1/48

The Hemitt " ten tons of fun" is also back in 1/35 together with 1 1/2 ton 6X6 WC 62 us army truck. AND the 2 1/2 tonner!

Some kits there that could look good on my shelf.

Any one else hearing good gossip in the model making world please feel free the share it here!!

What about the Italian one, the M.A.S. its a nice little boat. I've got that in the stash to together with the s-100.

total rumour but what about a Japanese boat, nice if they did one of those too.....

I'm still waiting for the rumour to be confirmed that Revell are going to re-release their 1/32 Tornado GR1 again. Seriously hope it's a true one

The Mk1 Hurricane interests me. Also looking for Spitfire Mk1 in 1:48 Any recommendations for these kits? I'm right in thinking am I, that it is the Mk1 variants of both that starred in the Battle of Britain??

You'd be correct Mark

Extract from the following link: The Battle of Britain - Home Page

Between August and December 1938 No. 19 Squadron at Duxford was equipped with the Spitfire Mk.1. By the outbreak of war nine squadrons were fully equipped and two others were in the process of conversion. A total of 1,583 Spitfire Is were built. Deliveries of the Mk. II (basically a Mk. I powered by a 1,175-h.p. Merlin XII) began in June 1940, but widespread re-equipment with the new version did not commence until the following winter, and it was the Mk. 1 which bore the brunt of the fighting during the Battle of Britain; by July 7th nineteen Fighter Command Squadrons were operational with the type.

Ian do you have a picture of the vosper at all if so can you send me a copy via a post? iam eager to see it.

Hi Al,

If they re-release their Gr Mk 1 - original kit number 4760 - don't walk away from it .... RUN! - unless you're a natural born masochist. It's the most awful kit I've ever tried to build. The rear seat does not fit in the cockpit, the general fit is poor in most places and there is a serious lack of locating points.

It's the 04705 (updated GR1) kit they are on about doing apparently. Which is a good kit as i already have the IDS version but seriously want the GR1 version.

Only 1/48 Ian and not a GR but thanks anyway. I only served on GR squadrons and not fighter squadrons.

For all that are interested IPMS Germany have posted a huge pile of photos from the Nürnberg 2011 toy fair- Some thing for all tastes and tenancies!

There is also some reports on kitmaker.net, have only looked in on aeroscale yet but I am sure the others will have their say.

There are some wow moments and some oh another one moments but a great way to kill time if you are trying to avoid kitchen duties :-)

One you may be interested in Ian is that Masterbox are going to release Long Range Desert Group figures, very similar to the resin ones that cost so much. There is a good selection of poses including digging out. See more here Armorama :: LRDG In Styrene. Who Else? Masterbox...

Oh they look good Graham, might have to keep an eye on those.

Me thinks that Stuka from Italeri looks rather nice as do the staff cars from masterbox.
