After 3 years of great service from my directors chair it as finally succumbed to the extra weight I've gained over the winter months (winter coat as I call it )So now I'm in the market for a new seat/chair and as we spend a lot of time sitting I was wondering what you guys n girls park your butts on and do any of you have any recommendations View attachment 107503

I have a leather tilt, swivel and height adjustable jobbie...paid £15 from a charity shop. Nice and comfy.

I've got a nice brown suede executive chair, paid £130 but worth every penny as I spend 6+ hours in it every night and all day on my days off sat at my computer/work bench. It even doubles as a bed when I nod off

I have some cheap but comfy executive chair thing. Still think it's one of the best chairs I have ever had, albeit splattered with paint and such... I just wish I could find another.

Another one with a swivelly office chair kind of thing. I've had it years but I don't think it was particularly expensive, probably less than fifty quid.

You should get one that swivels. You can guarantee that one day you'll drop some delicate part you're working on .... and hear the awful crunch of breaking plastic when you move your chair to find it and put one leg of the chair - or a size 11 foot - right on top of the part you're looking for! With a swivel chair you can turn around to look for the missing piece without moving the chair legs or your feet. Ask me how I know what the crunch sounds like!

Totally agree Dave I'm using this patio chair as a temporary fix until I see a nice cheapo swivel at the local car boot or charity shop as to me it seems wrong to pay full price for something that's going to get covered in paint glue tea and biscuits I'll be keeping my eyes peeled I was going to go booting today but the the rain scupperd that plan

I took the casters off my chair after I was sitting and leaning forward to look for a piece of a kit decided to see the world and as I lent forward the chair tipped forward and I ended up under my bench and using my face to break my fall !


It is now just a swivel chair

I must be the only one that uses a stool. Nice big solid wooden jobbie, it'll outlast me!
