Reminds me of the bureau thingy I had as a kid. It was in my bedroom, had a drop down that I worked at and I did all my model building/painting in it.Happy days

mines an artists plan chest with plenty of hiding places for the kits the wife doesnt know about ;-)

@one48thtel nice wardrobe set up, could do with a set up like that myself as it makes it look tidier.... I'm in the Guards so I'm anal about keeping my room tidy, although you wouldn't think it looking at the photos, but past caring for a little while as moving soon.... I really like the look of you AC-130 gunship, fancy a swap wink wink

@mossiepilot thanks for letting me join in then :) it's always good for inspiration to see how everyone else's rooms are.

Thanks for like comment.

I like tidy work areas so seperated the spraying from the building area and have different draws for tools paints. Then another draw set aside for builds that are still flat enough to keep dust free. The c-130 is just a J model that I got pretty much when they first came out

I don't know the difference between the A to Z model lol, if you fancy the look of anything then let me know

Sorry Lewis what I meant was it isn't an AC-130 gunship but just a straight C-130J. If you still want it Give me a list of your 1/48 scale USAF/USN kits and we may have ourselves a deal

Haha, feel stupid now as seen the writing on the box, derrrrrrrr!!!! Looked like a gun sticking out the side but it was the rear wing thingy :)

Sorry for going off topic @mossiepilot but saw big kits and drooled :)

Must admit I looked for the AC-130 and thought I needed glasses.

Very nice man cave!! ;)

Are all kits or there are some die-cast models as well?

I love the ghostbusters one :P

Well the downside of moving is that I haven't had a workshop for around two years, which drives me nuts. Anyway we moved and I inherited a barn with corrugated steel sides, regularly ventilated, asbestos roof, woodworm in the frames, etc.. etc.. so we decided to pull it down:

Then we rebuilt a Barn conversion:

which, of course, includes a modeling room:

Now I just need to spend some time in it!!

Polux,

It is a Maxitrax kit of an Atkinson steam lorry. The trailer is a scratch built addition and the rowing boat and cradle was added later. The plant is a Cheddar vertical boiler with a Cheddar Puffin twin cylinder oscillating 'V' engine. I have added a gas attenuator valve to conserve gas but apart from that it is pretty much an out of the box build. I still hope to get around one day to adding some decorative signs and more detail to the lorry, something along the lines of "Simpson's Boat Yard" in an appropriate perioid script. I started to add some cargo to the lorry and will carry on with that when I get back in the workshop. The packing case was made from coffee stirrers one evening when I couldn't think of what else to do!!

The performance isn't brilliant and it struggles with any sort of uneven surface but it does actually work and looks the part with steam coming out of the exhaust!

The pictures are all ships I have worked on, apart from the Bismarck!! The Bismarck picture was given to me by an executive at Blohm & Voss shipyard after he showed me round the 1/50th scale yard model of the ship, kept in a locked up room hidden away in the original yard office, and after I had been for a walk around the slip where she was built. To stand on the slipway where the Bismarck was built and then first entered the water was quite something.

I was wondering the other day how your build was coming along Richard.

Maybe these pictures would be better placed in the thread that you started, just to keep it togther.

Mmmm..... fantastic model!

Thank you very much for the explication Richard!

Seems, soon I will follow your "way"... the other day I bought the Hawker 1/24....but before, I had on my hands two interesting RC fishing boats models. Is a step that I want to do, but I don't know exactly when...O_o I'm just waiting for a little signal....

Thanks again.

The truck is lovely ;)

You're right I will dig that out and update it as well. Any idea where it is Ian, I can't find it now!

Polux,

I've just started this off, which you might find interesting:
