Hi everyone

I was at a show recently and took a load of photos but have no idea what the exact/official names of these three vehicles are. Any help would be much appreciated. Many thanks in advance

If more photos are required to give an exact answer then please let me know

Hi Steve,

I am no expert on British armoured cars but I am pretty certain that is a Humber armoured car of some type. Looks very similar to the Daimler armoured car from the side in many ways. However the sloping front is the giveaway, as it is stepped on the Daimler, I know because I've built one.

Hope the below help.....and of course that I am right!!!!

Definitely those as mentioned by Mark and Andrew
I remember those armoured cars well recovering them .Not nice for the crew if they turned over as the batteries were under the turret floor.

Thanks for the confirmation John. Not my area of expertise..... And as for the poor crew in such circumstances.....

Probably a Humber Armoured Car. Could be a Guy, though, they had the same body on a different chassis, but I’m not knowledgeable enough to tell them apart without looking through references, which I don’t feel like doing right now.

Morris C8, I think, but softskins are not my forté.

Not a clue, beyond “British WWII truck”.

Ferret Mk. 1/1 (the Mk. 1 was open-topped, the Mk 1/1 had this odd stepped superstructure, the Mk. 2 had a turret).

Using my vast knowledge of armour , I ‘d say - brown car, green lorry , green lorry, yellow car .

Many thanks for the update. I may have confused some but the second and third photo are the same vehicle. So am I right in saying the first vehicle is a Humber Daimler, the 2/3rd vehicle is a Morris C8 and finally a Ferret Mk. 1/1??

Not a scooby, if its not a StuG I am totally dim, however can recognise a pie van when I see one!

Cheers Andrew. So we are looking at a Humber Armoured Car. We just need to work out which MK??

Hi Steve....

Really not an expert but I've just looked up the different marks....apprently I-III had a 15mm MG....Mk IV had 37mm US gun - this doe not look like an MG.

Cheers Andrew.

Because of everyone's help I have looked into the Morris and I think it may be a 1944 Morris C8 GS 4x4. If anyone can confirm that would be appreciated

I hadn’t even realised that :)

Not a Humber Daimler, but a Humber Armoured Car. It’s definitely a Humber Mk. IV, but that was very hard to tell from the first photo, because the armament wasn’t visible.
