I’m calling it done.

Not a bad kit, I had no fit problems whatsoever. I think there are a couple of areas where different versions have been researched, but now I know what a minefield that is I forgive Italeri! It’s been several years since I made a plastic kit other than a figure - May 2020 in fact- and I have to say I have really enjoyed it. I also enjoyed the research for the extra details and CITF.
I was hoping to do the crew but I have other calls on my time and I don’t want to rush them , so they will have to wait for now.

The observant amongst you will notice that the .30 cals are about to lose all the ammo out of their boxes, but they are only PVA’d in place so all that will change when the figures get added. I particularly want to replicate this guy having a smoke...

I notice there is an extra armoured back to the cupola which was not included in the kit, so that will have to be addressed.
Having tried to fit the guns I'm also a bit sceptical about the inclusion of the screen thingy behind the cupolas-they seem to obstruct the free movement of the gun shields and ammo boxes, so maybe there are some wires crossed in the research process. Was it removable, I wonder? It's too late for me to do anything about it now. And I’m sure I will think of more C to go in the F.
As I have made clear already, this is the first stage of a diorama I have planned , so you will be seeing more of it in due course, but it’s taken me ten years to get to this stage, so no breath holding, please!

Thanks so much to those who have followed along and chimed in with banter and encouragement, and, of course ,many thanks indeed to @Geoffers for proposing and hosting the GB ,which kicked my butt into starting it at last.
Here's the rest of the pics

Superb result, Neil. :thumb2:
One quality build for sure.
It's been a pleasure to quietly watch this model come together to what we see today.

Cheers.

This is amazing!! wow, it's beautiful, what a superb job you've done!

Superb job, love the attention to detail it's really paid off.

Superb Neil. Everything about it is testament to your skills, patience and research.

You’ve certainly brought the whole thing to life…..looks absolutely spot on :thumb2:

That looks great :) If this is your first non-figure in four years, then you certainly haven’t lost the skill :)

I'm also a bit sceptical about the inclusion of the screen thingy behind the cupolas-they seem to obstruct the free movement of the gun shields and ammo boxes,
I don’t know anything about it, but looking at it, I don’t think it’s a major problem. The guns would generally be used when the boat is approaching the shore, so as long as they can fire forward and diagonally, everything’s good, I would think.

Well that's absolutely fantastic, thanks very much everyone!
I'm pleased you all like it and utterly delighted to get the DOG'S . Please thank the committee for me @JR

Unbelievably good!

Or should that be very believable. From the realistic rope work to the well-worn paint to the plethora of knick-knacks scattered around, I love it all :smiling3:

I'm sorry for the late reply but we've been without internet for a few days (my teenager was ready to leave home lol), and I knew these pictures deserved viewing on something bigger than my phone :nerd:
