That really looks the business, and I think you’ve just given me some ideas for how to finally make similar things for the LWS I’ve had nearly complete for years due to not having any reasonable way of making rope bumpers for it.
Cheers Jakko, I was looking at the pyjama cord and thinking it wasn't really right, but then I thought why not, let's see if it will work.
Do show us your results, won't you ?

Apologies for the late attendance Neil , lifes been a bit hectic this last few months. What a superb display of modelling skills , the attention to detail and out of this world scratching is a pleasure to watch . Damn !, you might even get me wanting to make a floaty thing !! Cheers tony
Tony you're always welcome.
To be honest I think of it as more like an AFV than a floaty thing at the moment , but you go right ahead, sir!

Wow neal your dedication to getting these fenders right is admiral . They look as if they were bought in from a retailer.

Ha ha thanks Dave. I'm afraid your warning is rather late, it's been going all my married life. In fact I even made her wedding dress .And with three daughters and a daughter in law it really does impact on my bench time. They're always buying things that are too long, knowing I can take them up! What can you do?
So there really is no end to your talents!

:flushed:sorry, there's not a blushing emoji...
Oh there are plenty of things I am utterly crap at, like money management, cooking and gardening, real world things that might actually make a difference

Seems to me your turning a relative stock model into a masterpiece, great job mate :)

With two daughters & a daughter-in-law, you've already made a difference.

Thanks for the interest and the excellent comments chaps.
Not much to report, but I have painted and fitted the stern fender

I think it's a bit out of scale, but at least I know how to do it again when I can't stand it any more....
And I have added to the CITF in the form of some tarps, made of different types of paper , wetted and Kleered.

Thanks again for all the likes and comments.
Just a quick update today. The scenario here is that this is the second or third trip to the beaches for this crew and there is stuff all over the place. Many of them would bring back the wounded on the return trip , which must have been disconcerting ,to say the least, if you were next to go aboard...
The GIs were issued with waterproof 'polythene'-type covers for their weapons

and this is what we see in this pic

so I want a few dotted around.

They are just clingfilm painted with black wash and folded in half, shiny side out, and stuck in place with, you've guessed it.....Kleer.
This is another element that I have mulled over relentlessly through the years, and I am very pleased that my theory has worked out first time.
cheers
Neil
