Hi all had my missus brother and family over this week and the nephew spent a lot of time in my model den, really interested so, with his parents consent sent him home with. 1/72 Airfix hurricane (I started on Airfix so it's good enough for him) we may have another recruit (he's8)

Nice one. I wonder if we all should keep an Airfix starter set to one side just in case of a situation like this !

Great to see younger people getting into our hobby recently.

That's how I started back into modelling - someone bought my grandson an Airfix kit which I had to build for him!

Same here dave although this was a birthday present for an old chap down the pub who served in the Royal Navy during WWII and I was the only one who had built models before so it fell to me

I started around he age of 8 as well.My dad made me a couple of models,Canberra, Douglas Skyrocket.I bought my first kit which was a Revell 1/72 Zero.

Me too but mine was an Airfix Hurricane. Saved my pocket money for it.
