Hi all well we've moved in (so much to do) we're loving our new house.
Still getting used to being a townie (after ten years of living in the middle of nowhere) everything is so convenient (even had a Dominos last night, delivered no less) and what amazes me is it's quieter (no barking muntjacks in the middle of the night) I never thought moving into a town would be quieter than living out in the boonies oh and internet, wow we got 3 meg on a good day this morning we had 114meg took all night for us to download a film my missus did 3 last night in an hour.

Glad to hear you're settling in Ken. So how long is it going to take you to rebuild your man cave?:smiling2:

I think I'm doing ok with the negotiations, just have to wait and see.

Nice to hear you're getting settled ken , cheers tony

Great news you've settled in nicely Ken, just keep sweet talking the Boss you'll soon get your man cave.

Hi Ken
Moving is very stressful as well as expensive. I can appreciate what a change there is moving from the country to a town. We moved from the Outer Hebrides to a market town
Glad you're settling and hope you find a nice modelling space.

Years ago I negotiated laundry duties & seasonal storage for basement rights:smiling:. PaulE

Glad it’s working out for you Ken, lucky on the broadband as well....I live in the middle of Salisbury and get about 2 meg......I’m just about to do the opposite and move to the Somerset countryside.....amazed at the price of removal firms!

Our removal company was amazing and only cost 750 quid, they couldn't have been more helpful (even going as far as dismantling cupboards and reassembling them upstairs. When they were finished they even asked if we wanted anything moved around. Tbh I don't think I will have much time for modelling in the near future anyway.

That's cheap Ken! Did you move far?
I've been lucky that my last two moves were company relocations, so the cost didn't matter, within reason.
Pete

Can’t believe that, great deal mate, well done....the best quote I got was 2.5K, the worst 4K......I nearly fell through the floor....

5 miles our friends (who recommend them moved 15 miles and cost them 850) you need to shop around our son moved 4 miles and paid 2500 (they recommended their movers said they were great, so they should have been at that price)

Hi mate
We did shop around, got five quotes and the 2.5K was the best one......we’re moving about 40 miles, so not excessive.....I think the issue around here is the extensive army work the firms get.....they don’t have to compete to get work so the prices rise....one of the firms we got to quote moved my in-laws thirty miles five years ago and charged 850....

Hi all well now it's all complete, got a new job (with more pay and holidays) we are as happy as frogs on Lilly pads, flys on poop, maggots on rotting festering decaying rubbish.

Well no, happier than that, we love our house, we love where we are, our family is great and are fully behind us, life, as they say couldn't be better
