Its that time of year again chaps , this sunday 12th Oct is the annual Newark Expo at Southwell racecourse nottinghamshire. This excellent event is held under the grandstand at Southwell racecourse (occupation lane, Rolleston ,Notts NG25 0TS ) and is free to park and attend. Its a great show with plenty of club displays and traders,an open to all competition ( £1 to enter each model) a snack bar and a seating area with a proper bar too! I'll be going and the past few years several members have met up for a chinwag and a coffee (or beer if youre not driving) .So hands up who might be coming and shall we say meet up in the bar/seating area at half twelve? heres a pic of yours truly so you know who to look for ,or maybe avoid. cheers tony

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it this time.Ive spent the last few weekends putting a new roof on my garage and replacing the up and over door with a UPVC door and window.Im turning it into a proper man cave.I need to finish it before the weather changes for the worse.I will be going to Telford though.

Yeah good to catch up again, shame your not at Telford.

Great news on the comp,, what class was it??? ;)

The museum was good, lots of well spaced out aircraft, really annoyed I forgot my camera, the iPhone just don't cut it with pictures like a decent camera :)

Ive just got chance to get on the computer so heres a few pics from the show. It was great to meet up with Ben and Katie, Adrian and his mate Rob and Malcolm , and as usual it was a fantastic display of club stands , lots of traders and bargains a very healthy competition and a superb venue ,all free too ! Congrats go to ben for his second place with his beetle and I got a second with my little chopper , but the MiG 15 UTI didnt catch the judges eye . The monotone WW1 soldiers (ghosts?) walking through the poppies deservedly took best of show , its a superb piece - simple but solemn and powerful. I had to get a pic of the pink panther land rover for Polux too!! Cheers Tony

The judges obviously didn't appreciate how much effort you had to put in to get that MiG done - maybe they thought it was just an OOB of an unfamiliar Russian jet. Like I said "there ain't no justice!"

Bit of a shame regarding the MiG Tony, the judges obviously had no eye for awesomeness :) Good result for the helicopter and the Beetle though, good work guys.

Sorry I couldn't make it this year some great photo's Tony and well done Ben and Tony on the second places
