Steve....Do you know if Revell number match Humbrol paints?
No, they don't but there are shed-loads of conversion charts on-line! Just Google your desired conversion and (as if by magic) the answer will appear! Well, at least that's what SWMBO says - she's a Techie whereas I'm just a Ficko!

I used to know a professional ships' painter, who had dermatitis so badly that he had to wear cotton gloves filled with Vaseline. If he didn't wear them and clenched his fists, the skin on his hands would crack and bleed. That was from washing paint off his hands with turps.

Ouch! :anguished:

I now have the Humbrol paints I wanted for the Sea Fury (ficko 1)
Found a little shop close to me, which has quite a stock of them.
I can now crack on with the Sea Fury

OK, last post ( or the mods might blank me for taking up the room)

Just want to thank ALL you guys that have helped & acknowledged me here
I've forgotten who linked me the Seafire at a starting price of 99p. was it Ian?
I won that one (£31) so thank you for that.

i now have three 1/48 kits to build :nerd:, and have a couple more questions to ask do with airbrushing and decals so will post in the correct forums, if I can find the ones needed :smiling3:

Well I think you have made your intro and been well accepted into the fold.
I was just thinking as I read the last Nth pages that we might want to end this and move on to the paint section chat where the Humbrol problem has been aired.

Oh yes. many thanks, Tony.
I missed the post yesterday so I will pick it up tomorrow.
I was going to start the Sea fury that Steve kindly gave me, but as my father-in-law was involved with the Sea fire, I guess I'll have to start with this one. ;)
I've just got to find somewhere to put them when finished :)

Spare bedroom perhaps - or a second mortgage to build a custom Man-cave, maybe put the kids into the shed - not that problematic surely !

There is a good information about the build of the Airfix 1/48 Seafire by Tony Canfora in this Airfix publication from a few years ago. Sorry for the late reply, I don't always notice aircraft being a modeller of "floaty things".

Received the Mag, after being sent the wrong one originally :)
Thanks, Ian, I would never have known this but for you.
