I got this when I was wrongly told by emodels that the 1/24 scale version was discontinued so I thought before I take my 1/24 scale I'll have a crack at this one

Now I've not had a good experience with Italieri aircraft kits so I'm apprehensive about this build but as they say who dares wins but I've had as much success as Del Boy using that Phrase ! So if anyone has built this kit it would be great if they could tell me of any problems :)

I think when you open a Italeri kit, you always will have to expect a "surprise"...O_o or, like Forest Gump said, you never know what you will find inside! :P

Anyway looking very good! I'm doing a B2 and looks less detailed kit that this one :P

Yeah Polux I know what you mean , I've had a look at the instruction of both and there is more bits to the engine on the 1/24 but seeing as I intend to build this without the engine showing there won't be a problem there , the cockpit does look good on this one it just depends on if it goes together properly I struggled a bit with my three hurricanes I built by Italieri and the panel lines are just as shallow so if it looks like there going to be too much hassle I'll just paint and weather it :)

Yep life is like a box of chocolates and apparently so are so models.

Looks a nice model Alan with a load of detail going by the picture.

A good plus it does not seem to have the very painful "German measles" camouflage.

Can I ask, Alan, which pieces are the PE...? O_o

And 4 versions decal...you have some idea?

I will be waiting for your final result :) my best wishes or good luck!!! :) :) :)

Ive read a review that this is a nice kit. That PE instrument panel looks good.I'm surprised Italeri don't give you an Italian option on the decal sheet as Airfix do on their old kit.

Italeri can be hit and miss but generally they're okay. I'm surprised about the Italian option too Dave. I have a 1/72 Italeri Stuka which has Italian decals though. That also looks to be a nice enough kit but the canopy framing looks a bit dubious. Alan's 1/48 kit has had nothing but praise from what I have read. Roman did this build a while back: http://www.scale-models.co.uk/community/threads/ju-87-b2-stuka-italeri-1-48.15722/

Cheers guys for the info , I was a bit disappointed with no desert option but I might have a look online and see if I can alter the decals and do a desert camo version :)

Thanks Alan!!

Yes, I miss the desert one as well O_o

But you have seatbelts....I haven't on mine!! :) :) :)

Seem's you will keep this build on secret :D :D :D by the moment, very nice work so far!

Nice looking kit Alan but one of my pet hates no pilot! Will be watching with interest cheers John

Cheers folks , Barry the pe in this is a simple stick job and fold so it's not that bad I've have done worse pe jobs :)

Another brave man pe is the devils invention and only the purest of hearts can beat it, so I don't stand a chance, I have to admit that in the right hands it is awesome. You have made an awesome job so far.

Ken I'm not a lover of pe tbh it's ok on aircraft as it's mainly cockpit that you get and tats easy because most of the time it's flat and just has to be placed on and if you use a gel glue it gives you time to get it in position , now warships are different kettle of fish that's when it becomes really interesting especially when you wake up in the morning go into the bathroom and see a piece of it stuck to your forehead that you were sure you'd put on your kit the night before !

From what I have heard Ken this is supposed to be quite a nice kit, look forward to seeing this, Stuka,s always look good especially in the bigger scales I think.
