Hi guys, joined today as I have always been a keen modeller, probably got hooked on the polystyrene cement and still need a 'fix', been glueing and sticking for at least 62 years and for the latter part was into rc flying and building but unfortunately health has gotten in the way so now, consequently I'm back to bench building, boats etc, anything that takes my mind elsewhere, I'm from s.yorks BTW. So anyway, I recently purchased for a sum less than £10 delivered, a remploy kit of a well bottomed gig, totally complete , boxed with all instructions, a google search says its a boat, it isn't, its a fancy horse drawn cart, discontinued in the 80's and now considered a collectors item and I can understand why given the extremely high quality. The other google result bought me here and a scratch build by Don of East Sussex. Not planning on starting immediately as I have a billings bluenose on the bench but looking forward to the build with all that brass, mahogany and more

Welcome mate! Bluenose is one beautiful boat; look forward to seeing her made and rigged in due course!

Welcome to the madhouse mate,

Hi Gliggsy. The Bluenose sounds interesting, and look forward to seeing your future builds.

Looks like you scored real good with that kit of a Well Bottomed Gig, starting to get like "hens teeth" today, very rare to see a kit of one today.

Here's something similar, only it's 12th scale and all scratchbuilt, like every nut and bolt hand made.
Started with quite a few photos of the original vehicle and found the drawing of the "RALLI CAR" and just went at it, until this appeared on me bench.

Just got it locked away in a glass cabinet now,

Any questions, then please ask.
