A couple of years ago we bought a holiday home

And this is the view

Shortly after we bought it the site got sold, slowly people have been made to leave by the new owners, so the other day we decided to move it, it’s been too stressful wondering if we will, be next, so next Friday it goes on the back of a truck and will be moved to a new site, once we made the decision to move it was like a great weight had been lifted, as it turns out some of our friends on the site are doing the same and moving to the same site.

if you’re thinking about ever buying a caravan on a site think twice, the industry is not regulated and they can do what they like, the site we have found is part of a stately home and owned by a trust, so we should never be in the same position again.

once we have moved and things are back to normal I can carry on with the Lancaster nose 😀

I've heard that there of often restrictive rules and regulations associated with holiday home parks. I hope your move goes well and your new site proves to be perfect for you.
Look forward to seeing more work on the Lancaster.

Glad to read you have made the move and gotten out of that place. I guess that the new owners are "travellers" that want the place to them selves... Shame about the lake though. Rather handy for the odd spot of fishing...

how did you guess? They don’t want it for themselves, because we didn’t buy from them they haven’t made any profit from us, although they have just put the ground rent up to £6k a year, it’s just greed, the ones they have kicked off that can’t move their vans have given them £20 for their van and put them back up for sale for £90k

"You missed a nice little earner there Rodney."
"shut up Grandad". lol

How much does it cost to have one of those moved? If I may ask.

The park charge us £3k to move it off the base and to the car park, about 40ft, then to go on the back of a truck for 60 miles it’s £1200, then about £1000 to site, level and do all the safety checks at the other end, but normally when they sell a van they make profit on that sale, we effectively have had to pay what they would have made in profit for the pitch, I won’t tell you how much that is I 😭 just thinking about it 😀
