Paul. Great start and very interesting build I’ll be sitting next to John with my spoon and napkin. Yes turn on the heat a little very cold here for June
Thanks Lee, you may have to wait awhile I haven't even peeled the spuds yet.

Some nice additions Scottie - like the flared chimney end and hinge
Thanks Simon, if your happy as the master of scratch then I'm happy. What do you use for small rivet details as my punch set only goes down to 0.5mm?

Just a small update. I replaced the coffer grinder handle with a cranked version. For strength I drilled out both ends and used copped wire to secure the handle and both ends. The hasps were modified and the third one added. I didn't have another etch one so made it out of a bit of evergreen sheet. I also removed the very badly moulded weld beads and replaced then with stretched sprue.

On the other end I have added a crank handle which I presume locks the brakes on. This was again added form some flattened copper wire and drilled out both ends to accept a bit of copper wore for strength.

I think I'd struggle to even see some of those pieces, never mind work with them! Looks great.

Yes, I think I need a cat sat on my desk like wonwinglo has. That might just be fast enough to catch them!

Scottie, your detailing makes sense of all those funny little lumps and bumps that had me wondering. Great stuff.

Lovely Scottie and do different

Now what about the sausages!@@
Yes it is different well for me certainly. This is primarily an excuse to practice my figure painting I am waiting for some figures to turn up. Sorry but don't know how to say this but I have eaten the sausages.

Evening Scottie,

I have a Nutter punch that does 0.25mm by The Tool Shop a US firm

Nicely made BUT they cost a ridiculously stupid amount and you have to use their lead foil so you are limited to the foil thickness - won't work on other materials without causing damage to the tips.

Sometimes have to stick a few punched bits on top of each other to get a bit of thickness

I got mine in a sale with a substantial discount and it was still expensive. It can be handy but if I was buying again I think it would be hard to justify the cost they are now charging

I actually designed and drew my own punch and die set and tried a few engineering companies that supposedly specialised in small run productions, to get quotes - not a single answer from anyone

UMM-usa.com have an interesting selection of punch sets but smallest seems to be 0.4mm

Thanks mate I may have a go at making my own use some broken drills. Not sure I can justify an expensive tool.

Hi Scottie
More miniature magic.
I struggle as well, my big problem is pinging things across the room.
The floor around where us modellers work must be a veritable treasure trove of handles, knobs, catches, rivets etc.
Jim

Have u tried sheet rivets? I've seen them on evilbey for detailing RR stuff in HO scale. PaulE
