Scale Model Shop

not stew again.

That’s it, I’m taking up knitting!
Wish I had a pinch of the imagination and ability you have Scottie:thumb2::thumb2::thumb2:

Hi Paul,

I wouldn't take Si's threat too seriously my friend. With his knitting skills he will probably end up on the 6 o'clock news…….."A local Sussex man had to be freed by the fire brigade after he knitted himself into a cocoon and couldn't get himself out of it....With some oxygen and some new meds, the emergency services said he will be fine………………."

Very kind of you but don't think so
John,
Your buildings show a great deal of flair and imagination and are very nicely made.

Well at least he would be able to knit something I would keep dropping stitches lol.

Scottie,

Well I think everyone has said all there is say on your build, I definitely think you should write a how to book.

Hi All, a little bit more work done on the cook set and limber. I have tried to make them look used but not to dirty as I would imagine the cooks would try and keep them reasonably clean. One strange thing, the decals don't appear to be written in German but Polish?
They still need a final matt coat and dusting.

Now the fun bit trying to sort out there positions on the base, I want them to look aesthetically pleasing but also practically laid out.

Next thing to do is work on the court yard and the barn/lean to.

Hi Paul,

I looked at the decals in my kit with strong magnification and saw the same thing. It might be the Japanese version of German or Polish. The decals are so small, no one will be able to read them anyway. They could say "caution, contents may be hot", but who knows…..Looking better with every up date my friend. Here, it is still cooking temps wise and no fun or table time!!!

Hi Mate as long as it looks like it say something and your right it will be a caution sign or operating instructions. It has been a lot cooler here today with fine rain all day.

Looks very nice Scottie. I agree that the cooks would probably have tried to keep the thing as clean as possible, although probably wouldn't have been that clean themselves - you could have fun there!

Thanks Peter, when I get round to painting them I don't think the aprons will look very white.

Blimey. You have been busy mate. The building is awesome. Lovin the guttering work. As far as the kitchen goes I would like to swear but I shall hold back and just say its really damn good. One of the best models I have seen for a while. Well done mate

I have been building the European cart from MB. Not a very good kit, very soft grey plastic with lots of flash and alignment pins at least twice the size of the holes. Still I always enjoy a challenge and got it all together. Construction was quite slow as I had to scratch wood grain into all the parts except the metal fixings. The harnesses had the moulded eyes replaced with wire ones.
The whole lot then received a coat of Tamyia buff. When this had dried I worked in some burnt umber oils. I must admit I am quite happy with the result. When this has fully dried I will paint in the detail and metalwork.

I just noticed I have glued something on upside down so off to sort it.
Comments always welcome

Hi Scottie
Really realistic wood grain on that cart :thumb2: Goulash Cannon looks good.
Decals might translate as ...... "Allergy warning. Goulash prepared in a field kitchen which handles nuts." :tongue-out3:

Thanks Jim, glad you like the wood grain I am quite pleased with it. Having eaten field prepared food I have seen some of the miss adventures during prep and cooking but we still ate it :smiling3:

The worst one was beans and petrol where the cook tried to fill up the burner when the food was next to it. Now that was bad but we were cold wet and hungry lol.

The wood finishes are just excellent Scottie. Another stunner in the making. PaulE
