If you have a full, proper air brush spray painy booth, with proper extraction, out of a nearby window, do you still need to wear a face mask?
As presumably most of the particles are being pulled away from you...
Only really asking as almost all the YT vids I see, the person in the vid is never wearing a mask!
I appreciate they may just not be waering one as they are talking into a mic for the vid recording, so it may affect the sound.
But what do you do, mask or no mask if you have extraction?

I have a good spray booth and check and change the filter in a timely manner. I don't wear a mask.
Not saying I'm right or wrong. My wife shares the room for her sewing and she says she doesn't notice any chemical smells.

I'm asthmatic and it depends what I'm spraying..... If it's waterbased acrylics then I don't bother cos the smell don't bother me
If I'm rattlecanning (or in the old days airbrushing something that needs thinning with something like ipa or stronger) then I wear a mask...... Got a fancy multi filtered one I 'borrowed' when I was working

Cheers for the info......I may have acquired a proper airbrush spray booth with proper vent.....
So....now currently re-arranging my study/hobby room, as the original plan was to use my Acme home made DIY jobbie cardboard of a spray booth in the garage, with old extractor fan and a fine gauze filter, no proper vent/extraction.....
But nah...... it all needs to be in the same room. Not carting paints / thinners up and down from room to garage and vice versa...!
Plus, I don't mind a bit of overspray, and a few fumes, etc in the garage, but in my hobby room (spare bedroom) I need proper venting through the window and a proper booth, etc. So..... I have got another parcel incoming... Lol

For anything other than water based acrylics I would say yes to a mask.

Always mask up when using Tamiya, not so with acrylics , but have the extractor on as soon as I pick up the AB
