right guys,got given an airbrush a couple of weeks ago and been struggling with but tonight i actually managed to spray something with it. anyway just about clean it out and dropped it.the needle thing goes right throught the airbrush now and does not stop in the nozzle thing.think the point of the nozzle has actually snapped off.(badger 200 i think).are these parts replaceable as i got no documentation with it and is it called the nozzle,are the nozzle and needle matched so that you have to buy both,and next can they be bought in the uk as i can only find reference to usa.

I think before we can come with some actual help, we really need to know exactly what the airbrush is. Badger 200 you think. Could you post a photo?

Generally speaking you can get spare nozzles alone, so you dont have to buy needle/nozzle together. Unless the needle got a thumping too.

Hit evil bay and see what you can search up.

looked at a few pictures using google images, badger 200 bottom feed airbrush, is this the right thing,its the MEDIUM thats throwing me now

Not worth messing about over, you've definitely split or snapped the nozzle but likely bent the needle too, if you replace only the nozzle and have a bent needle tip you'll not only wreck the new nozzle but not be able to get a workable spray pattern.

Replace both and be more careful in future when cleaning, have a look at my 'how to' video on airbrush cleaning, you'll note also I sit on the floor to do mine, not so far to drop and easier to find the fiddly bits that ping off.

I'd guess that medium is likely to be the equivalent of 0.3mm, the usual workable range is 0.2 / 0.3 / 0.5 with the middle one being the 'standard' for most off the shelf brushes and a good size for a compromise of reasonable coverage and fine detail work.

had a good look at the needle,at first glance it looks fine but looking closely the very end has a minute bend,almost microscopic so will probably replace both,thanks guys.

Trust me, it'll make a difference, a bent needle may not look much but it'll mess up your spraying progression summat rotten.

Keep the old needle, they make handy reamers for clogged nozzles, just straighten the tip a little by gripping in some needle nosed pliers and drawing it out while rotating it, just make sure you mark it so you know it's an old duff one. next time you get severe cloggage, (one day i'll have to write a dictionary of invented words), use the needle tip as a reamer carefully by hand

now i am stuffed,looked at the manual on the badger website for model 200 and some of the parts look slightly different,were there different models of the 200 because they are called the 200 series which leads me to think there are different ones..does anyone here use a badger 200,the nozzle thing i was talking about may be called the TIP,is this piece separate from the head piece or does come as one section. there are a few sites selling spares for badger but i just cannot work out which part number i need.even looking at parts on e-bay does not help because the numbers dont match the part i think i need............does any of that make sense...think there is a bit missing at the arrow

Hi andrew , ive got a badger 200 nh but it looks different to yours at the business end. The best thing i can suggest is to see if you can get a new needle and tip, youll need the exact model no. though, another option is to bring it to cosford and see if any of the traders have any spare bits. cheers tony

darren,the buisness end on yours is totally different to mine, think i have solved the riddle, the new badger airbrushes have a totally different head section on them to the previous models.not very apparent from their site. new ones are designated as 200nh(as per yaks comments) which means new head.most spare parts for sale are for the new head but just state badger 200 which is why i was confused because they dont look the same as mine. may have to order from america so i might end up saving for a new brush instead.

Hi Andrew

I think what you may have done is dislodge the tiny little Teflon bearingin the brush

body and if its a Badger this has to be replaced by a service agent. If thats the case

you would be hard pressed to see the little blighter especially if it went onto the

hairy monster. This little bearing is what you feel(resistance) when you insert the needle.

Hope this does not prove to be the case but when you said "the needle dropped right

through" this is my bet.
