Hello, as the title suggests, this is my first Modeling Forum, so Im a newbie, at least in this mega knowledgeable Forum, I have been making models since I was,,ehh 6 plus 4, thats 10 if my memory serves me right, and now I am 64yrs and have been hoping to find a great bunch of Ladies and Gentlemen like youselot since my wife bought me my first PC, 10 YRS AGO, you must thinkk im pretty dumb, the reason for my lack of computerbility can be explained in three words Parkinsons Disease ,Prostate Cancer (in remission) nail patella syndrome, look up the last one as it would take me 24hrs to explain, oh and really severe Tinnitus,so if you decide to contact me, type very loudly, so as I was saying, three??no six,,7 no no its eight words thats correct 8 words, sorry I have been watching MONTY PYTHON, THE MEANING OF LIFE, AND I love zany humour its my main power plant, a ANTI PARKY device if you like, essential in my war with Blackheart, my term of endearment for this pig of a disease. So my new friends down to business,in my loft are unopened kits going back45yrs, balsa wood aircraft both powered and not, some very early plastic kits by frog airfix revell and many others they are all stored in those very large boxes three deep and from floor to ceiling, my wife and I began a stocktake four years ago, but I was rushed to hospital in agony with gall bladder trouble, anyway the most up to date kits, are well the most up to date kits,,,KC135, EC135 A400 ATLAS,, AC130, all the latest fast jets, Armoured veicles etc you know, the usuals. HAWK PHANTOM OF ALL TYPES, TYPHOON, the usual, but its not the kits I am writing to this Forum for, its my even vaster collection of DIE CAST Models all but a few in 1/50 scale Aircraft Buses Coaches and at last my heavy plant collection ,I worked in the HP Industry for26 yrs parky meant the loss of all my licences, so I am constructing a DIORAMA 0n a 4x2 lump of mdf or l or something, so any advice would be wellcome, must go now as Im worn out.

Kind Regards RED

Phew so am I Red. I can only say at the moment I am suffering from modelitis. It leads to a disruption of the brain with flashes of Morton knives Vallejo paint and the distinct hiss of an airbrush. Apart from that I am insane to be here.

Apart from viewing many Dioramas here I would not know where to start.

But welcome to the forum which will right all wrongs and give you others. How do I know that.

Laurie :)

Welcome to the site, for dioramas I would also look at model Railway sites, there is a lot of overlap between building layouts and dioramas.

Welcome Red, hope I'm typing loud enough!

Sounds like you have some great classic kits it would be good to see some pics of your work mate.

Hello Laurie Dave and last but no way least ,Aa ron thank you for replying to my post. I have spent all morning preparing my Diorama, I have been laying the roads using brownish grey dark brown and a reddy pinkish colour, this represents the colours I have encountered when employed by OWEN PUGH DUDLEY, CRAMLINGTON, Plasticine is ideal for preparing the terraine as it wont crack, and if its laid on a clean

2 x 4 mdf sheet it will stick like well Plasticine really, the site is far too cramped at this time but I wanted to both show you my favouritist, ,sorry a bit silly there, Machines, all of which I have operated in my career, I miss my job , especially footings excavation, and precisely the opposite, Demolition I really enjoyed wrecking things ,it gets a lot of frustration out of the system, whereas footings appealed to my creativity , all those skills lost, never mind, this is my route back into heavy plant and near enough not good enough, is my motto, I will "hopefully" send pics so you can see progress as I use my active imagination, in developing this my first Diorama, with reference to model rail systems I do have lots of experience constructing and removal of said railways, I had a extensive model railway, yes youve guessed it up in the loft, but had to unconstruct it as I needed the space to store my DIE CAST models, so the miniture drivers engineers and labourers on my very crowded site have had a extended lunch while I am typing this post to you my friends, QUESTION, I need site personnel and many other articles to enhance and improve my DIORAMA, Things like chains Diesel Tanks, for refuelling the Machines, fences needed to build a secure compound thus preventing miniture thugs vandals and general riff raff from damaging my expensive Machinery so I will be needing a visit to your shop, I am off to kick ass now, then explore this great Forum further, far further than furthered by any other Forum.

Kindest Regards Red Blackstone

Hello Red, welcome to the forum...

There are plenty of 1/50 scale personnel on ebay right now.

Some very impressive plant you have there. It will be a shame to get some mucky, but if you are going to make a diorama, mucky it has to be!!

Cheers,

Ron

Some sweet di-cast machines there Red, I understand about greasing the missus up for supplies. Especially when the postie comes with boxes.

Yes I know the feeling Aarron, trying to think of some logical excuse for wanting the beautifully detailed HITACHI ZAXIS with those wicked demolition shears, or the latest KOMATSU HYBRID and how machines like it will save the planet, if I had been sending for very naughty explicit DVDs I would understand, but its my hobby and I love collecting, there is unfortunately a element of CBS which is powered by Parkinsons, though I have bettered that now I think, but I am 64 Aarron I can buy what I b?????y well want, when beloved visits Newcastle and returns with six dresses two pair of shoes and enough make up to circle the world TWICE I never say a thing if she wants anything she can have it, mind you sometimes she finds her way to Marks and Spencers exotic underwear sexshun, and when she asks me for my opinion as she walks back and forward across the bedroom , its very very distracting Aarron, but thats a very rare occurence now so I dont expect things to improve:rolleyes:

Well I am going to take a few pics of work in progress, the to bed I think. Thank you both for replying,it always amazes me Steve that my words will be with you in seconds, after I press post, whats the weather like your side.

Kind Regards Red Blackstone:) ps THE VULCANS are all XH558 I constructed the BLACK V and painted it black, there was never a black VULCAN, there was a black VALIANT which still awaits construction,, the Aircraft trying to rotate from my kitchen table is carved from solid mahogany, bought at DUXFORD 4 yrs ago, but the best is the corgi XH558, Just thought you might be curious

Good morrow friends, I only intended taking a few photos last, night but you know how it is, you say to yourself, " I will just adjust this, then that and before you know it 3 am has arrived, I have a reason for these late nights, or early mornings even, I suffer the most horrific night terrors and immerse myself in my creative side after a while I have to sleep of course, then the fun really starts, the dreams also fire off hallucenations hideous creatures hanging from the ceiling ( oh no sorry thats my lovely wife she can only come out at night), I catch up on my sleep through the day by using, and I vowed never to use this term but in my case it most definatelysurelywellitsabsolutely correct, you see I JUST CANT RESIST SILLY, yes my friends I POWER NAP, or TURBO SNOOZE or if I really need it, sleep that is I go for the TRIPLE SUPERCHARGED QUAD TURBO, POWER 40 WINKS, now thats what I call a nap, they only last, well 0 to sublight speed and back in 5 EARTH MINUTES, but in real time elapsed, according to good old AL EINSTEIN, you know, that clever bloke, and also ,, the great man himself,,no no not GDUBYA BUSH THE YOUNGER ???????????, ITS BACK ,??????? Red those aircraft look fantastic mate I especially like the blackbird.

Your last post was an interesting read and I had more than one giggle, good stuff. Still sunny over these ways mate but I think it's starting to cool down some.

I assume that this is the post that you had lost. My bad I moved it to an other section by mistake. Now back where you put it.

Keep the 75p and buy a cigar to celebrate.

Hello aaron, they are but a tiny sample, I rotate my display from loft to front room to spare room to loft three ties a year, they are due now as I missed earlier due to illness, so I will take my camera up instead of 1/2 ton of die cast coming down its not exactly what you would call tidy up there but intrigueing, mean time heres a few more. Kindest Regards Red I think the TSR2 compliments the big TEREX, even though they are a different scale

Hello arron, please accept my appologies for the delay in sending the pics of HABU, the last two days have ben pretty bad,my dear wife has had problems with her eyes (cataracts) for at least a couple of years and despite my constant nagging she always made a excuse for not going to hospital, if we were out in the car she never picked up on danger, like one of those big 45ft long red things with people inside, however yesterday she went to the Optimeristmtst, and she spotted a problem, and to cut short this tale, she has a blister of some kind behind her eye her right one, and has to go for tests, so that's yesterday, now today, I have been battered by dyskinesia since Iwoke up at 7. ,30 this morning, its a very severe uncontrollable movement of all my limbs, it bloody torture arron, if you imagine jogging for 48hrs non stop and you wont be anywhere near how exhausting it is however Ied will take pics now so should be with you soon. Best wishes Red am I posting from the right place??
