Well, I know I don't really know you guys that well but just wanted to share my good news (well I think it's good news anyway).

I passed my driving test today.

For years I had the time but not the money for lessons, then, when the kiddies came along I had the money but not the time.

All the while my wife has been badgering me about learning to drive.

This year I just put aside most of my yearly bonus for lessons, tests, etc, and I passed today. I guess after 13 years of driving me around I'll be getting handed the car keys!

Maybe now I'll be able to spend a bit more time on models!!

As it's a special purchase I think it should be someting special only problem is I can't think of anything at the moment that I REALLY want.

Maybe I'll just chuck some money aside to buy something later.

Well done fella. On a side note, I've been quoted £900 for my insurance today, and that's by far the cheapest! I'm 34 with 6yrs NCB. Good luck with that phonecall!

Well, the good lady made the call earlier (we're just sharing the one car until the Euromillions money comes through lol), it's about £270 (ish) and no extra to pay (going from Provisional to Full licence). Don't know whether it's because I'm 36, or because she's been driving for about 24 years or what.

£900 seems a bit steep, maybe your insurer has seen your avatar!!
