At the rate I complete, I have enough kits to live forever.

You are in the same situation as me. I seem to be buying lots of kit and building very few lol

the buying bit is so easy I have a large stash that just seems to grow I wasn't going to buy any kits this month I've bought four kits all from ebay plus some brushes plus some paint from John lol I think it's just how it is with this hobby lol

lets face it we're all a bunch of kids in a candy store, and don't know what to buy next.

I must confess that the impulse buys have stopped and the last kit I bought was a jeep for a couple of quid, just to get the machine gun.

I tend to go more up in extra bits, resin detail sets, PE and the such at the moment.

When the new releases begin to hit the shops it might be a whole different story....

I keep telling myself I have got to stop, and that I probably have more kits than my local hobby shop(wishful thinking)

But you always see something else, and before you know it the voices in your head have justified you buying it:devilangelfight: well that`s my excuse anyway, I`m glad to see that I`m not the only one going through this, I blame the kit manufacturer`s, If they didn`t bring out so many nice new kits....we wouldn`t buy so many:lol:

I only have about 50 unmade kits, you guys make me feel much better about it. Some are 'replacements' of kits I loved but know I could do better, so you buy another one to have another bash at it. Some are impulse buys, some are part of bigger plans (diorama ideas, etc). Ian hit the nail on the head for me, we are indeed kids in a candy shop. Except these kids are mostly older with some expendable income. Dangerous mix.

Yes! Women ARE the voice of reason aren't they? Here's me, being a hunter/gatherer of kits and all she wants to do is be a voice of reason!!!

Does anyone else here buy a kit intending to do the best, ultimate build that I can possibly achieve, but never has the nerve to do it? I have a few kits like that, just too scared of buggering them up.

every kit mate and I have one I realy want to do well but like always I get to close to the project and end up messing it up.

I intend to use a bit of advice from yoda

patience you need young jedi lol

You have to be strong Bat, Just resist!!!!!!

What am I saying, I love trawling the LMS and Evilbay for kits, the only thing stopping me buy, buy, buying, is lack of money. :bangin:

I apologise if this is off topic, but does anyone else bulid with themes in mind?? I seem to have several in mind - a history of 29 Sqn, Display teams, Battle of Britain ( all 1/72 ), and as complete a collection as I can of Spits in 1/48.

Oh thats along with Tamiyas 1/20 F1 collection. More than enough for this lifetime at my build rate, but I still find myself drawn to totally oddball subjects - I'm very tempted by a 1/48 Trumpeter Sea Hawk that I fancy doing in German markings. Why? I have no idea....

Cheers, Neil

I have a 1/24 fire engine which will be an aboslute sod and which will probaly be started in 10 years time. But I love handling all the runners (apparently we must not call them sprues) and reading the instructions.

i do like to buy the kits that are going to be a long build and if there not i will add aftermarket to make it longer

Absolutely joe, I got the airfix 1/48 EE lightning about 5 years ago but because its such a classic icon and i want to do it justice in a nat metal finish , i darent start it for fear of cocking it up ! tony

Maybe we need a future Group Build for kits that we are scared of cocking up just so we get them done!
