So when i did the ferris wheel music box someone asked about painting it.....personally i prefer the all wood look but it got me thinking......watched a vid or two and the easiest way of adding colour is not to use paint but felt tip pens!

The ferris wheel was nabbed by the grand daughter to go in great gdaughters nursery......and then she said what you doing next for her?......sure that kid thinks money
grows on trees 🙄.......the merry go round music box is about 40 quid!
so shes going to have to wait abit for that one

My local Dobbies garden centre has a selection of Rokr stuff in for xmas.........this is a small merry go round.......no music or motor......10 quid......thought it be good to experiment with by adding some colour rather that ruining a big kit

This is definatly going to be a speed build.....wont take long at all

Spent this morning going through the instructions and trying to picture what bits should be what colour then doing some colouring in.....my idea is that most of it will be bare wood with some bits picked out in colour as 'highlights'

Even if ive got it all wrong and its looks a dogs dinner it will still be fun

I've got one like that :) To be honest though I'm happy to spoil her.

Look forward to how this turns out. Does the felt tip pen ink bleed out beyond the lines.

I am too but sometimes i feel like a cash machine lol

Depends on the type of felt tip.....i did some experimenting ....i bought a pack of paint pens from hobbycraft cos i needed a white and that bleeds like crazy but ordinary felt tips dont......but theres plenty of gap tween the parts so its ok anyway

Paul,
Absolutely brilliant and unusual model, lovely work on the build and a stand out paint job, which enhances your build even more. Thoroughly agree with what you said re. Paintwork, leaving some natural wood was a master stroke 👌.

Really nice Paul.My wife likes this.Might have to get something similar for her.

Well that didn't take long at all. Nice result. I'm sure the young lady will approve too. If she still gets it.
