You're welcome Si, apart from the show most of us make the trip for the islands food and drink spots. Every corner there is variety of food outlets and all good as early as 6.30 in the morning till way past midnight.

Lunch break...with Hokkien prawn and fried noodles...

Breakfast...with Indian fused Pakistani Nasi Kandar or drivers rice... basically food for the coolies that has become a favorite. The late Anthony Bourdein can vouch for it.

Midnight Teh Tarik or Pulled Tea at the Mamaks.

Or even supper of Wantan Noodles...it's also open for breakfast. Wash it all down with a Kopi-O Ping...local iced black coffee.

You can't miss the famous Durian fruit...it's priced like gold in Singapore, Hong Kong and China. Here it's like heaven for these fellas.

Hi Richard
Looks to have been a great show. Sounds as if you all had a good time. Modelling is certainly an international hobby. Thanks for sharing so many photos of such a wide range of models. The food looks wonderful. You'll have to go on a diet now :tongue-out3:
Jim

Seems you all had a great time at the show and at the restaurants :thumb2: .
Thanks for posting the photos.

Many works of art I see and also neat to see many upcoming releases from the various manufacturers, who’s releasing the Tomcat you’ve put up and in what scale?

WOW! Thanks so much for posting all the pictures. Its great to see other peoples work. Sorry you weren't successful with your planes. I'm not a wingy fan so they all look the same to me. However it was great to hear about your Silver medal for your armour build. Terrific work and well deserved. Looks like you and all your friends had a great time. The D Day display you all did was outstanding.

Thanks guys and enjoy we did indeed.

Jim, prior to the show I had lost weight as remarked by Calvin but I'm sure its been replaced since. :tears-of-joy:
Fernando, the Tomcat is the long awaited 1/48 AMK kit. On seeing the sprue and molds, many were intending to trade in their Tammi kits for the AMK. I'm not a fan of Tomcats but I was nearly tempted.
Steve, I'm ok with the plane results as it was tough competition. For the little ugly fella I'm happy it turned out a swan. The D-Day display was inspiring and we're already thinking next years themes.

Cheers,
Richard

Richard,
Firstly very well done on the silver, it was thoroughly deserved. Thanks for all the pictures some really nice work on display. As the others have said you certainly seem to have fun when you go.

You're welcome Andrew and thanks Scottie.

Penang is a great place to visit as there's lots to see apart from the heat and humidity. The moment you leave the hotel it gets sticky until you aclimatise.

Cheers,
Richard

Congrats! Thanks for sharing. Looks like a good excuse to eat. Not that one is needed (MHRIP). There's nothing quite like good food shared. PaulE

Top Job Richard!!! I bet you thought the ugly thang wouldn't turn a judge's eye. Congratulations on the silver Sir!!! A wonderful assortment of good food, but the coconut ice cream in the coconut looks too delicious and probably fattening too. Thanks so much for all the photos and the time it took to post them too.

Prost
Allen

Thanks guys, very welcome to share.

Paul, a good days manning the table displays blended with good company and food is a good combination.
Mick, two days is not enough. :smiling2:
Allen, the ugly tank did its thing I guess, thanks. We left the word fat behind in KL. Sorting out the pics was no problem.
Leo, you look familiar. Did you enter the competition? Yes must meet up next 2020.

Cheers,
Richard

Yes I did enter the competition for airplane category

Hi Richard, congratulation to you and Leo on your awards. :thumb2::thumb2::thumb2::thumb2::thumb2:
Great show by the sounds of it, and food as well.
Thanks for the photos, always interesting to see how other shows look.
Off to eat now as the sight of all that food .. :smiling:

Yes that was my entry at MALCOM 2019 :smiling4:, 1/32 Hornet.

Congrats Leo, good thing you entered in the beginners class, some of the vets spotted you left locating pins between the calipers of the pylons...they should be removed if not attaching ordnance. Other areas were the canopy lifting strut and the lack of weathering to the outside of the engine nozzle. They were puzzled why judges missed out on these until informed that this wasn't an advance entry winner. Remember those locating pins for next year.:smiling2:

Thanks John, if you're into local delicasies then you'll love it apart from the weather. If you like the sun, the beach is peppered with lobsters of the foreign kind :tears-of-joy: I don't get why they torture themselves.
No problem...always like to share and also recieve images of other shows.

Cheers,
Richard
