Time to put my entrant in more when I start in the mean time here's what's in the box.
And a couple of extras

At the moment I don't get much bench time in three days I have managed the whole of one seat
If this was a couple of years ago I would probably have half an aircraft done.
How times change.

Nice start Peter

Applied some paint to the seat first aluminium

The cockpit green.

And whilst the paint was still a little tacky I use some tamiya masking tape and lightly pressed on green to give that worn look.

Got some more parts painted ready to stick together

Got all of the parts together including the seat and pe belts.

Cockpit cage all finished and installed in the fuselage half and a buttoned up with a tiny amount of jiggling about

Now started on undercarriage bay

Got the wings together fairly easily but that's where it ends because if the cockpit is not carefully installed the wings won't fit as I have discovered so I am going to put this down before I ruin it.

I've almost given up on mine it's a terrible fit or just might be me here's the pics showing the areas in question
I will more than likely start on the old airfix 1/24

I have been going through a similar nightmare with mine Peter. I hope you don't bin this one off, it's far too nice a model and completely doable. Maybe rest it for a couple of days, get yourself a cup of tea and a ginger nut biscuit and then come back to it refreshed and ready for the challenge. Good luck.

Trouble with a big kit with small gaps is careful and precise application of filler. But those 'steps' on the leading edge wing root are, odd

And the cockput came together so nicely, though it sounds lie the precision of the fit could be off

A brand new (2023) kit where the fit is off? Curious

Looking good Peter, you can deal with those gaps and mis-fits easily. Not ideal for a modern kit release, but certainly salvageable with your skills

You know, there are a lot of ultra-modern CAD kits with such fine tolerances, they don't fit together with a coat of paint in the way, but this still makes me wonder

It does look good together though. Mostly! Do not be deterred!
