Sherman III DV (Early Production)

Dragon 1/35 scale

Hi friends.

I will join in to the Sherman SIG this year.

In fact isn’t my favourite one, but I really want to build a tank. Because I wish to try new tips and skills o_O let’s see what happens....

My choice is this item from Dragon.

The camouflage isn’t so pretty  but will try to recreate a weathered Sherman on a little base, maybe some figures, some complements, some vegetation, some... :)

Seriously guys, my intention is looking for a very special model ;)

Thanks

Polux

I have built this very kit, and it does build well. One minor detail it did not include the machine gun!!!!

I think the camouflage is rather nice :-P

I will look forward to watching you work your magic on it.

This is my favorite tank, I will follow this.

nice choice of figures ive built them in the past and they are real nice

Not sure but I think that the Sherman I had was a different boxing. I just remember I had to find the Machine gun somewhere else.

I think that the tank depicted is a British unit, but I guess they could of given the US chappies a much needed hand....

Hi Polux,

I think the markings are from a Canadian unit and as the box art shows, its on his way to Napoli that should be Italy:p

Until 1945 there were some Canadian units in Italy until they got reassigned to Holland. I think the G.I' are a good fit, they are for the Italian theatre, and would show the axis units as team players. ;)

just my two cents:rolleyes:

Hi Richard.

There are five markings for the Sherman.

“C” Sqd. 4th County of London Yeomanry, Italy 1943 (the photo one)

“B” Sqd. 4th County of London Yeomanry, Italy 1943

HQ. 3rd County of London Yeomanry, Sicily 1943

“A” Sqd. 44 Royal Tank Regiment, Sicily 1943

“A” Sqd. 26th Armoured Brigade, Tunisia 1943

Anyway, the problem is solved!! Yesterday I have found a British armoured crew (two figures) that looks great, from the brand Alpine.

So the US guys will take part on another diorama someday! :P

Many thanks!!

It would be great if you could take a picture from the same place.

Some great photos Polux.

My 'vote' would be for the first one. Tanks, buildings, trees and plants and not to many figures!
