Hi,

Please excuse an old 'un's lack of knowledge regarding coping with 3D-printed kits.

Have purchased a number of printed models, and am aware of the need to wash thoroughly (warm water & detergent) to remove agents.

However, after washing, a small number of kits / parts still have a very "tacky" feel, and have a wet look to the resin (yes, I did dry them :)). In one case,a portion of a M14/41 turret has an opaque, oily appearance while maintaining its shape.

These may be silly questions but: -
  1. Does this sound like the kits were sent before some resin parts were fully cured?
  2. Is there anything I can do myself to cure the resin?
  3. If nothing can be done, should I paint using primer as normal?
Thanks

If they are 3d resin printed, it is cured by UV, so pop them in the sun for a while. That'll let you know if they've just been slightly under-cured.

As well as extra curing, try washing the parts with isopropol alcohol (IPA). I use a small coarse brush with the bristles cut short. The resin I use is water washable, maybe ordinary resin is different?
