And I have ...... just a little though ......
boxing the frontage out with 4mm softwood box section .....
and another as the sections get added ....
from the front and all is still quite neat ....
and more stiffeners and window formers being added .....
and one last shot for now. I don't want to go adding any more at this point as all you end up doing is disturbing the rest. I'll let this lot dry and then continue.
I'm glad I decided to abandon the resin cast as I think it was just wrong on so many levels. I'm not trying to trash the product but more ..... wanting to point out for anyone else interesting in buying it ..... just beware.
I understand why they did not try to cast this elevation in plastercast as its just too tricky with the very thin window frames. Which leads to another point ..... they were unrealisticallt too thin as well. Their plaster casts are pretty good so ..... just stick to what you do well.
cast to thin and not finished well at all.
this photo does not show it very well but the bottom edge is severely bowed.
The sort of fluted surface to the vertical decorative edges are a bit " bubbly " which I suspect has just been trapped air from the manufacturing process. They don't need to be perfect but maybe a little more work on the finish ifs required ..... even at a greater cost.
The building that I glue together last night is dried and holding together well .....
and from the rear ....
Once I have the current building up to a completed skeletal state, I'll stop and make a start on the boundary walls. The idea is that I will be bringing up all the superstructure tasks at the same time and after final positioning of all these elements ....... the actual bare bones scene will become clearer.
Apologies for jumping about between tasks but I think it helps me in my minds eye.
hope you enjoy.
