Just about to leave the man cave for tonight having finished some prep work for tomorrow .....
Floor joist and roof rafters cut and ready to go ....
the Proxxon mini table saw has earned its keep today .....
it makes light work of all that cutting ..... over in minutes ....

Back on the case ....
It's roofing time ....
and the victim ....
Should look the part once it's done....
time to hit with the glue .... normal PVA with a touch of black primer ....
and we commence .....
They will be secured further with some noggins but I had to wait for now ..... as usual ..... try to do too much in the one go ..... and you end up with a mess. I think the first load of glue will dry relatively quickly and let me bash on making further progress.

Lol takes me back to when I was a surveyor, I'm checking the work mate, did you do structural calcs for those timbers? Gotta take the loads... 
Started doing the noggins .... but came to a halt as its too much .... too quick and I am starting to distort things ..... so I may call it a day for now ..... a couple of pic's before I go though.....
All the bare woodwork will get the wash treatment at some point.

and a bit of an ariel shot ..... not great but holding camera and floor ..... a bit of a faff.

It looks like it is all coming together very nicely Tom, nice work
So .... back in Dounreay then ..... I'm spending my time looking up various window shutter types. I also have to decide .... just how much of the actual window frames survived the blasts.
My tasks this weekend will be to finish the roof and upper floor ceiling. I am thinking of putting flooring in the attic level. I don't think they would have had it but I need it to give strength to the ceiling structure itself.
Also .... once the roof joists and noggings are done ...... some battons to take slate tiles. I have sent away to diorama debri for three slate tile moulds. They should be here by Friday. ..... so ... more plaster casting at some point.
( update ..... slate moulds have arrived )
I think the underside of the upper floor ceiling will be created from daler board rather than attempting lathe and plaster. One of the other buildings lends itself better to the lath and plaster ceilings as the roof / ceilings has three sides for support rather than two. We'll see, not cast in stone yet ( or should I say plaster
).

OK ..... in the mancave and immediately took a couple of steps back ...... I took out the noggings that I started installing as they were squint .... and just .... well ..... crap.
Started again.
there we go ..... no noggings but ...... an attic floor. I'll bet this would not be installed in the real thing but for additional structural purposes ..... we have one here.
and another shot.....
getting on now though ..... noggings back in ..... a bit straighter ....
and again ..... all this to be given several washes as yet .....
and the inside story ..... I'm hoping that these diagonal supports will be able to go once the overall structure is complete. we'll see.
and another look ahead shot .....
and one more for now.
tomorrow, its tile batons on the roof and ...... not sure after that.... washes ...... casting tiles.
I need to start thinking about painting the building...... oh and ceilings and window surrounds ...... never ends ..... but like the pain.

The tile mould x 3 and the infamous .... plasterboard sheet mould with which I have had zero success to date. Thought I'd give it another test drive today.
a bit of a mixed result ..... 14 out of 30 potential tiles. however, it is the first attempt which has been traditionally poor until I get the mix right.
how thin are these .....
delicate little devils.
26 out of 30 for the second mould ..... getting better ......
and the stock pile starts to build ..... just about another 150 or so to go ..... and thats just one building. ..... so ..... what am I doing here blethering ..... get casting .....

so ..... its a waiting game ...... drying time is soul destroying ......
more tiles being cast .....
excess plaster skimmed off the top waiting for the mould to set .....
more coping stones on the way for the walls ..... in these moulds you get so many end casts and so many corner casts so it takes a few casts in order to get enough plain straight casts ....
another plasterboard cast ... if I get another three undamaged results from this I will be delighted ..... if so ..... the next building may have plaster and lathe ceilings instead of Daler board.

and the waiting game ..... all part of the cycle.
