Ron, that is most interesting.........and a very logical approach to "what might have been". The late war camo is the "Bomb" and I have only seen it on a Tiger ll.....you have kept this in the realm of believability and that makes it even better! Well done to you, Sir. The base is a work of art......did you have a specific location or time frame in mind when you rendered this? Rick H. :thumb2:
Hi Rick, glad you like it ! I would figure mid-1944 , I suppose. Sorry, really hadn't put that much thought into it. Lol, I just really liked the model kit and couldnt resist. The octopus camo, hmm. Overall I'm satisfied with the result. The rather-large "suckers" were originally red oxide, but I think it's better all Olive

Hi Ron, I didn't know that camo scheme was referred to as octopus camo.....makes sense though. I have only seen it in yellow over a green background.... I guess it would be subjective, as there really aren't any color pics to work from that I am aware of. What did you use for the "wire" wrap on the barrel?

Oh, the red oxide suckers were my own spin Rick, and imo the looked terrible so I went back over those with the Olive. The original octupus camo (I'm no authority on this) I had seen had smaller, more numerous suckers, olive on dark yellow, vice-versa. This whole affair on my model, just having fun experimenting with something different.
PS Rick, sorry, cant remember the manufacturer of the chicken-wire mesh wrap for the barrel.. I'm thinking it's either Royal Model, or Verlinden though.

Yes just love diorama. They tell a story. Plus after spending all the time building a model it sets it in it's normal environment.
For friends as well viewing your stuff I am certain they look further at the detail as there is so much of it.
Downside they take a lot of room. I know well my room is near choked.

Lovely job. The subject is excellent, but the mud and moisture on the base make it really pop. All round, an excellent rendition.

Hey Rick, you asked about the wire wrap. Just occured to me, its "1/35 chicken wire" available from DioDump. I dont think he's on Ebay anymore so you might have to google it.

Excellent mud & turrets lying about is very cool. Wear'n'tear on Tiger is also adding interest. Well done Ron.
