It is being remade by Peter Jackson (who made Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit). He is a WWII buff and has already stated that he will not bow down to Hollywood pressure and cut corners. He wants to make it like it really was, telling the true story/details. Stephen Fry is helping him write the script for it and has said that it will be authentic too. They have already had 13 full scale lancaster models made for the film.\ said:They're remaking The Dambusters? I'm not sure if I like the idea. I hope it doesn't turn out like The Italian Job, Planet of The Apes, The Producers etc
Not really. Apparently the dog was called a couple of names and they are more politically correctness accepted. So much for the old addage 'you can't change history' ...... unless you don't want to offend people with the truth\ said:The biggest problem they have with remaking the Dambusters is the name of Guy Gibson's dog.

"Nigger" was also the codeword transmitted to confirm the breach of the Mohne dam.\ said:\ said:The biggest problem they have with remaking the Dambusters is the name of Guy Gibson's dog.I suppose they could just avoid using the dog's name. I think it was only mentioned once, twice max.
...and that is why most models are now sold sans swastikas.\ said:Not really. Apparently the dog was called a couple of names and they are more politically correctness accepted. So much for the old addage 'you can't change history' ...... unless you don't want to offend people with the truth![]()
