Hi

Many of you will know of my health issues and that i have applied for ill health early retirement

Had a call from HR and its going through with no problems:smiling3:, so thats almost it, 23 years teaching truck mechanics plus 20 years working in the truck and van workshops. Just waiting for the pension figures and lump sump.

So releaved and yes a happy bunny. Thanks to all who have asked how i am, its really, really appreciated

Stay safe bob

Good for you Bob Congratulations! I’ve been Driving Trucks for 31yrs. and I’m 52yrs old my arthritis kills me every day can’t wait till I can retire. Anything to do with the trucking industry is hard your body.

God news Bob

Time to relax and recharge the mojo

All those Stugs just waiting to be created

Hopefully the peace of mind will lift your spirits and put you back at the bench soon

Regards

Steve H

Hi Bob
Being retired is great. Once it actually sinks in you'll really enjoy it. The real surprise for me is how busy I am despite not spending time at work.

Ha! and you thought you had it easy before, now come all those little jobs that have been put off for years, and my how the time passes. You thought you were busy at work, :smiling6: wait till you taste real retirement. There is not enough time in the day, without the just as you are about to close your eyes - another "I was just thinking....." moment arrives.:rolling:
Seriously it's not that bad, now we have the 'bug' to curtail our expeditions outdoors, you will find you have plenty of time for the bench as well as other items in and around the home.
Just spent the morning tidying up the man cave/shed/summer model room as well as helping SWMBO in the garden as labourer/donkey, and now just finished a session on the bench.
And do not get sucked into day time tv, your brain will freeze worrying about what Madge will do in Doctors or the other drivel.
Happy retirement.
Mike.

Many, many thanks to you all chaps. Will not miss, tilting cabs, lifting heavy truck, wheels, brake units, clutchs etc, etc!

Greatly enjoyed working then even more helping the new generation of truck technicians, hate the word fitter!!

There's not many truck and bus workshops in south Wales that does not have someone I trained and encouraged, i take great pride in that:smiling3:

But my health is saying pack it in! As i have been off for a year had some retirement practice lol.

I look forward to even more StuG time, then boring you lot senseless, you all may regret it lol:hugging-face:

Again i really appreciate the kind words and support, what a great bunch!!:thumb2:

Cheers all
Looking for a 1/1 zimmer frame kit:cool:

Spruesday the 37th of Octembuary Mike.
And there was me thinking it was Blursday.

All the best for your retirement Bob. If I see these two weeks of lockdown as a trial run then I'm definitely not ready for it yet!
