Just finished this, was going to do it to represent the Cobra out of Elvis Presley' 1966 'Spinout' film but decided against it as the replication of the red/orange racing number discs proved problematic.

She's painted in a dark blue metallic, polished with micromesh polish.

The kit has a few issues but nothing too serious, just showing it's age I suppose but that wouldn't stop me from doing a few more!

Comments and criticisms welcome.

Thanks for having a look.

Ignore the two picture attachments, they are residual and can't get rid of them in edit. They turned out upside down for some reason, had me head scratching for a while!

One of my favourite classic sports cars & a lovely build! Great paintwork Dave, but perhaps you could adjust the exposure? The pics look a bit dark to me, so they're not showing it at its best.

Glad you like it Patrick. I've always liked the Cobra/AC Ace, an iconic 60s sports car and one I've always wanted to build a model of.

I took the pics with my tablet, which I mainly use for posting stuff on here, not sure if I can adjust the exposure or not, I'll have to have a look!

I did want to take some pics outside but the wet stuff decided to come down!

Thanks for the kind comments, much appreciated.

Looks great, what you need to do is expose for the car area with the most light and use a flash or a reflector to shine light on the dark bits. Even a biscuit tin lid or mirror will balance it up

Cheers for that dougie, great advice taken on board.

Wow brilliant, have been tempted to try a car of some sort, but seeing yours I am not so sure it is soo soo good.

Thanks Dan, as you know I've been admiring your aircraft and they are way better than mine. I moved on to cars from aircraft, still have some aircraft in my stash (2x1/72 scale and 1x1/48 scale Hawks), got 12 cars in the stash to build. Still trying to improve my skills and found that cars cannot really be successfully hand painted unless you're really good at it like you obviously are, however I would most definitely recommend an airbrush or at least a rattle can if you choose to do cars. They are a great aside from aircraft and give a welcome break from cockpit interiors, fuselage halves and tricky undercarriages!

Very nice makes mr wanna rip mine out the stash n have a bash. Well done mate she's a beauty

one i keep thinking about getting myself
They are a good build, pretty straightforward, the chassis, engine and interior come along quite quickly, it's the bodyshell that took the time, needed to be fettled a bit, it had some mould lines on top of the wings and between the nose cowl and headlights, a bit of micromeshing got it sorted.

I will definitely be buying some more, there are some very tempting schemes to be had!

For example. ..........

Well the model looks great. Good job. I could waffle on with advice but I haven't put much effort into my own pics haha

Your description reminds me of a former girlfriend, I digress! ;)
