Thanks Ron. Not quite as small as your other recent builds, but still quite diddy!

I don't know why Revell use such odd scales, when the vast amount of ships around this scale are usually 1/350 - Why 1/375?

Didn't Revell originally make their kits to fit standard boxes rather than making boxes to fit consistent scales? If you look at their old catalogues, there's loads of kits at some very odd scales.

Looking superb ron , as ian says the weathering and rusty streaks on the hull is amazing especially given the tiny scale top work mate , cheers tony

Thanks for the compliments folks.

I've found some more pictures of the ship. and realised I'd missed some important ( and very obvious) detail regarding the paintwork.

The top most rear masts and things were all painted black. My most glaring omission was the boot topping - The black waterline.

Finally, I forgot 'Old Glory'. That's flying proud now.

Here is the final result sitting on the start of it's base....

The 'boot topping'. I don't use masking tape for this, but prefer to mark a line with a pencil, then paint freehand up to it. Then, whilst the paint was still wet, I scuff the stuff with my finger to break up any harsh paint lines and to add some streaks.

The beauty of brush painting is in the fact that I can start to introduce the weathering as I go along, allowing the paint to run vertically where it wants.

Thanks Graham. Glad you like it....

I've nearly finished the base for it, so hopefully I will post the result in a couple of days.

Thanks again,
Ron

Very nicely finished kit and great to see how you have made such a nice job of this kit.

One of my very first models. This is a REALLY old kit. Looks great painted up so nicely. I was not trusted w/enamels yet and I left the craft unglued where possible so I could invade beaches. My imagination provided the men & vehicles. Well done & thanks for the memory jogger. PaulE

I like this a lot. What are the thick and thin upright "posts" all over the deck? What is their purposes?

Glad you like it, Steve.
Not sure what you mean by "posts"? Perhaps you refer to the cranes and derricks used to lower and retrieve the LCPs and LCVPs etc.

Either way, I'm pleased you like the ship. She's set on a wild sea in 'Ships Completed', should you fancy a look.......
