A couple of weeks ago, I had the misfortune to severely damage this ship. I trod on it!
Close to binning the thing, I eventually decided to 'Refit' her.

After she left the port of Gdansk, she headed out to cruise up the Norwegian Coast.

Dawn, and cruising in the thin ice of the Baltic Sea.

In case you are worried, she did meet up with Bismark. Her life ended upside down on the Kwajalein Atoll, after being towed there following her 'use' during U.S. Atom Bomb trials in the Pacific. She is still visible to this day.

Please, don't take the build too critically, it's really just a little exercise in repairing and repainting a 'squished' model as best I could.;):thumb2:

Cheers all.

For such a lady, better this ending ....

.... than becoming a razor blade or a bumper... ;)

Nice model and an impressive water dio, Ron.

Hi Ron
Great rescue job. Really looks good.

Thanks for the history lesson. I never realised how she ended up.

Superb little model Ron and some excellent photographs. Good decision to refit instead of binning the model.

Thanks everyone for all your very nice comments.

Yes Tim, it is 1/1200.

Just had a bit of a shock this morning. I was checking something in my old builds, when I came across a reference to Simon 'T'. It turned out he actually gave me this kit at the model show at Cosford in 2019! To my eternal shame I'd forgotten all about meeting him and his generous gesture.....So Simon, this revamp is for you.

Cheers all and thanks again for the interest.

Ron

Great model then 570 coming from Simon.
Done as we have come to expect along with some stunning photos both in colour and B/W.
Yours 453.

Thanks for the compliments 453, much appreciated.
I was chuffed when I remembered that it was Simon that handed the kit over to me in the first place. It's made the 'refit' all that bit special.

Thanks again.
