A great start Colin.

I would love to hear the joke that the crew have just heard. It looks like it cracked them up so much that one of them is actually ROFL'ing !

Little bit done over the weekend.

Added a few extras to lower hull, attached all relevant fiddly bits to upper hull (i must say it's well detailed), started painted the figures (got basic pattern for camo outlined), made a new cable for the towrope (four pieces of brass wire twisted, the original threads never that good eh?) ... thats it for now.

Looking good Colin, let me know what the academy kit is like,I haven't made one before and would welcome you comments on what the kit is like.

Thread owner
Thanks Mike .. the kit is really good so far, fit's well together, no flash, no moulding errors, nice quality plastic.

Have another Korean modern MBT to do for the Group Build thats accademy as well and on first inspection it's as good as this jobbie.

It's just a jump to the left Ole :) :)

Yep, i'm a fan, big enough one to have been to three stage shows of the Rocky Horror Picture Show ... and yes i did dress up :) :)

Anyway got some first coats of paint on, huge amount of detail in this kit.. i'm well impressed for the money.

The barrel's huge, there's a little "time-warper" in there for scale.

Thanks chaps

Got the camo pattern done, have weathered the hull with a dirty "road grime" (the turret has accessories to go on still) will give it all a slight muddy wash at the end, not going overboard on the weathering as the tanks fairly new and they're maintained very well.

The brake has just got a base of "soot" on it, needs touching up more with washes.

Hi Colin been watching this build and a cracking build it is so far, The camo looks fantastic well done on that ,and looking forward to the rest of the build

Thread owner
Thanks Ian, i'm having fun with this one...

Accessories all in place and turrets had a "road grime" wash as per the hull.

There's decals needing to be placed on the baskets at the rear of the turret, this can be done .. but will be a bit fragile and not very authentic looking at scale so i've made up two boards that will be attached to baskets and have the decals applied to.

Lastly the ariels, they needed to have the attenuator/booster coil near the centre so i came up with this ... it's bristles from a sweeping brush and the insulation from telephone wire for the coil ... makes them 4inches long - not far off scale at 12ft.

Made a base up, just a simple job with a sandy track, a bit of grass and some heathery bracken to break it up a bit.
