As can be seen. The pilot walked (well maybe ran) away.

Colin M..

I wonder if that's the same one I saw at yeovilton on Saturday

I hope they get it flying again it would be a shame to lose her

That is sad Colin. Yes I think I would be running as well.

Hope they can put the aircraft to rights.

These old things are slowly dropping out. Hear the Vulcan is to make, they reckon, its final flight. Tut !

Having just checked aircraft numbers with my photos, this is the same sea fury that was at yeovilton, seriously hope they can repair it :(

It's an aircraft I've been waiting to see. Even though it's been due to display at various shows I've attended, it never showed. So I still haven't seen it in the air. To a complete and total novice like myself, the damage doesn't look that bad.

Really do hate it when I see stuff like this, eventually in the next 80 years, all historic aircraft won't be flying. :(

I saw it at Duxford recently. I'd like to think they will get it airborne again but I wouldn't bet on it.

The other, single seat, RNHF Sea Fury has been 'waiting for engine parts' for years now. My father actually flew this one on a few occasions in 1953.

Cheers

Good point Steve, after all the crash was basically caused by an engine fault.

Looks to be a hydraulic problem.

One of the videos I have seen, the undercarriage appears to extend unevenly as he does a climbing turn and looks floppy, this is just after it starts emitting the white smoke.

It then retracts, and on the landing approach it once again appears to be unlocked when it extends..

Just my take on different videos I have seen on the net.

Glad the pilot was ok, he looked quite relaxed on exiting the cockpit, stopping to pick up something he dropped.

I think the Vulcan has been extended until 2015, as they are changing it's flight/display profile.

There is an article in this months 'FLYPAST' explaining how they want to extend it's flying future by doing this.
