After the untimely demise of the Lotus under my big feet I have decided to make a start on this.

Sprue shots.

And an envelope containing PE and some small decals.

Looking at the pictures I really should have taken the sprues out of the bags but it's too late now. There are 9 pages of instructions for the turret alone so this will not be a five minute job.

Andy.

Count me in too Andy! I have the Meng one in the stash cupboard, so will be interesting to see how they compare:nerd:

Started work on this now, very nicely made parts with no obvious flash on a quick inspection. Main part of the gun assembled and a few bits on the turret.

So far everything seems to fit OK with no fettling of dodgy parts. There is a lot to this kit, I mean, how many bits do you need for a hatch? ;)

More tomorrow.

Nice start, I'm thinking of starting my Challenger 2 TES from them next.

Hi Andy
That looks a great kit. Plenty to work on. Now don't go reaching across your bench for a file without moving the model first :tongue-out3:

Did not do much to this today as I spent a bit of time fiddling about making a paint rack, details elsewhere.
I fitted the gun to the turret but left a bit of the barrel off as it will probably get in the way while doing other things, also made up the turret side boxes and fitted the road wheels to the bottom hull.

You have the option to make the suspension workable but I did not bother as the kit has link and length tracks and I have spent enough this month without getting aftermarket tracks for the model.

Andy .I shall join if I may, looks a decent kit and that PE sheet is something ! With the kit as well ?

All are welcome John, yes the PE came with what is a very well produced kit.

Andy
Even better then Andy .
There are times when you come across a kit like this, my Great Wall Hobby was one, it's a pleasure to go back to and not have to right with parts.

More progress although it may not look like much, you can not see from the picture but there are 10 very tiny bits of PE and the two grilles to fit on the upper hull so that took some time. One of these days I will get around to sticking them all together.

I have been working away thinking this was the cleanest kit I have seen, then I came across this.............................

Shock, horror! a bit of flash on this small piece has let the side down. :surprised: I am of course joking as this kit really is almost totaly devoid of flash and so far everything has fitted as it should. Bodes well for when I get around to the Challenger.

Andy.

Ready to do some priming and figure out how to paint this thing.

Not interested in the desert scheme as sand gets a bit boring so I am thinking of doing the South Korean 3 colour camo, that is, if I can figure out how to do it as masking this model may present a few problems. If I was any good with a brush it might be OK, but my hairy stick skills are worse than my efforts with an airbrush.

the South Korean 3 colour camo
You mean the three-colour NATO camouflage scheme? You can spray that freehand, though the overspray is likely to be greater than official tolerances allow :) However, some weathering usually quickly gets that under control.
