I have sad news my tabby cat who was called bugs passed away at the great age of 17 years he will be missed

17 a ripe old age but sorry to hear about your loss
Tough news Peter, but that is a grand age for a cat for sure. It's always sad to loose a pet , be it a cat, dog, whatever......
We are on one fifth dog now! When we lost our first, we said never again...Within a few days we had a replacement and have done so each time we lost our friend......
I know folks who have never had pets, can't understand why it's neccessary to replace lost pets, or have one in the first place, but once you have one, that's it....The place is somehow 'empty' without one.
Peter, I don't know if you have another cat too, but if not, get down to the RSPCA, wherever, and get another cat, don't hesitate.

Always sad Peter when you loose a pet who has become a more than significant part of your family.
With the family about before all those expensive marriages we always had two dogs plus two cats. Pauline insisted.
All except one died at the end of their lives. One our beautiful German Shepard when 8 years old of a tumor on the brain. A lady in every sense of the word just a joy to be with almost human. I took our little Lab for a walk next day & shed a bucket load of tears.
As Ron said another one as we did in the week. Not a replacement an accolade to the departed.

Sorry to hear that Peter, when I was a teenager our 17 year old cat die;, the whole family was in mourning for weeks after, so I know exactly what you are going through, chin-up. Cheers Derek
Thanks for your replies i do have 2 other cats they are enough to keep me sain but i will be able to make my models with out him sitting on the plans or sitting on my shoulder an purring in my ear
I love cats.Got 6 at the moment and i cant imagine not having any around.Its very upsetting when they die or have to be put to sleep.One of them (Phoebe) sits and watches me modelling.Has done since she was a kitten.My daughter is moving out and wants to take her with her.Ive told her she will have to fight me for her!.Hope she doesnt as she would probably win.

Yes Dave know how you feel. Out last pet died about 3 years ago & I vowed, not wife, not to have another dog & cat as their life span was probably more than ours remaining.
But young son left for London & dopy dick here agreed to take on Honey.
And pleased I am what a little cracker. Clever she has learnt to type on the keyboard. Step on the mouse. Plus punch me on the chin with her head if I am not stroking her. Such is life. Humans cannot all be bad when these little things love us as we do them.

Sad to hear that. I'm an adopted human to two cats. They to where replacements for two that just vanished.
Needless to say these two are house cats and are not allowed out.
They do though have a 6x3m run out doors

On the brighter side this april i was given a dozen tadpoles so i put them in with my fish only for them to eat them but i managed to rescue one and put him in a seprate pond he did change after about amonth he dissapered and i thought somthing has eaten him 3 days ago while cleaning the small.pond i saw a one inch frog a miracle of survial i wasent half chuffed and pleased

Yes we had the same experience Peter. We had a small toad on top of a big one in our tiny pond (big pool) for about 48 hours producing all this bead like stuff. We had what seemed like hundreds of tadpoles. Our trained fish did not seem interested in them Gold & Chubumkins (spelling may not be English).
They turned into little toadies I would guess about 15 to 20 after they emigrated to the side of the pool out of the water. Fascinating to watch them scurry about over the stones with their long limbs compared to body length. They have disappeared now but I would not bet on then not appearing again next spring time to thread another load of beads.
I bet yours will Peter. Obviously there is at least one male & female.

She was a proper queen and unfortunatly became ill and had to be put down. It broke my heart and I still feel bad about it.
Cleo was followed quickly By Rameses who was joined my Max. Ramses had a heart of gold and unfortunatly it was not a healthy heart. He passed one very hot summer due to heat stress. Max just went for a walk on day and never came back. Then came Gengis and Bodicia, these being the two that vanished within a month of each other. I get the impression that some one around here does not like cats. I hope I never find out who. That was it no more cats! Yer right I think that held for a month, then we where back at the cats shelter. Where we got picked by Bandit and Bølle. (danish for bully). Bandit is a black and white meat ball of 6 - 7 kilo, Bølle a tri-colour wee lass of about three kilo. She beats the living daylights out of her "brother" All in good fun naturally.
Once you have been taken in by a cat, thats it, You are a cat person. Like it or not.

Sorry for your loss Peter. We had a dog, Brodie, a ginger Belgian shepard, who had to be put to sleep on Xmas eve last year, was the saddest Xmas ever, and like you Wwe promised, no more pets. Lo and behold, six months later Misty came, we now have a cat, gray and white, we call her Misty, because she blends into the carpet and disappears like mist. Best thing we ever did, Brodie can't be replaced but Misty helps fill the emotional gap, and we love her.

Good news i how got a 9 week old tortishell kitten i got her mainly for my black cat as he was missing the old tabby cat mind you keeps me on me toes

here is are new kitten she is called poppy she can't replace are old cat but fills the gap are other 2 have met our ginger couldn't care much but our black one is a spitting match no raised paws as they have both been used to other cats only 1 pic at the moment as 9 week old kittens don't stay still long enough.
