This is a Sarnia Miniatures bust depicting panzer supremo, Heinz Guderian c.1937 wearing, a general officer's uniform and the beret/hard hat combo:

As you can see it's based on an Osprey Men at Arms illustration. There is a useful painting guide provided with the kit, with another illustration showing the shoulder board detail.

I've painted the head:

Looking forward to tackling the uniform, which is covered in lovely detail.

Sarnia interesting. Sarnia is the latin name for our sister island, Guernsey.

Cheers Richard. No-one has been more generous than yourself.

Hi Peter
Looks nice. I imagine black is not easy - how do you add shadows :rolling: Head's good.

Mick - Thanks for looking in.

Jim - It's all grey, with the only true black in the deep shadows. The cap has darkened in the photos, but hopefully it will be more obvious once the jacket is done.

Morning Peter

Good start with your new bust, nicely sculpted too, nice work Peter.

Looks like today will be very colourful with the reds, gold, pale grey, black and browns, a very full palette.

Enjoy the paints it should be fun matching the reference photo.

Another wild day with a cold snap on the way soon!

Tim -Cheers. The eyes took a while.

Lee - Can you hand round the bikkies?

Steve - Yes, a great sculpt by Peter with finely rendered detail - right up my street. As you say, lots of lovely colour to play with too. All very enjoyable.

Peter

excellent paint job, grrat work with the balck - not an easy colour to get right and as you said above; its's shades of grey to create the effect of black rather than actually painting black.

I you enjoyed the time spent painting it.

Peter
