The build has started as per usual with lorries with the chassis. It went together well after the raised injector marks had been removed. Despite the fact I can find no pictures of the chassis I will add just for effect some air/brake lines. You really have to figure out somethings the exhaust for example. There is a choice of length. In this case it shows the short one. However when used the bracket shown in the instructions doesn't fit where shown. Then the instructions show in the next step the long exhaust fitted. I would imagine that that instruction is reused from another version of the truck.

Hi, paul, just joined this. "detail is good, but can be improved" I guess this means the usual 95% Scottie's work and 5% kit.
Looking forward to the magic.

One place where I think kit manufactures can really improve is suspension detail. The spring hangers are nearly always moulded as solid blocks and for me it ruins the overall look. So I like to improve them where I can.

And finally for today the fuel tank has had the moulded pipework and straps replaced with wire and pewter strip.

Well I would have to be a fool not to follow along another of your masterclass builds Scottie. Seat pulled up and kettle is on.

Cheers

Great improvement with the spring hangers and fuel tank. Your usual attention to detail and fine scratch work.

John, I agree especially with the advances in moulding and the trend to use tiny parts to make a bigger item.

Suspension is all done the back axle is not glued so I can make sure I can line it up with propshaft.

The front axle is not for the faint hearted. To enable it to be posed steered the CV joints are incredibly fiddly and made from small parts. but when finished its finished the detail looks good.
