Here is a 12th scale model of Country Storekeepers Waggon, the WORKING drawings for this vehicle were published by J.E.Bishop in “The Australasian Coachbuilder and Wheelwright, July 15, 1908.”
Made to 1/12th scale, I started with an idea from another vehicle, that's just a picture in a book called Tom Downers Legacy, see back cover. Found the drawing in the stash of drawings I have and made the model.
The Art work was swiped from the back of the book called Tom Downers Legacy and the actual full sized vehicle is in the Millicent Museum of Sth Aust.
Combined them both together and this was created.
These drawing have printed on them where every nut and bolt is required to hold the full sized vehicles together, so I use these ORIGINAL WORKING DRAWINGS for each different model that I have made.
These drawings go way beyond what any toys and joys drawing could have ever published and they look like a miniaturised version of the full sized Horse Drawn Vehicles.
I try and use timber ( Tasmanian Myrtle - Nothofagus Cunninghamii ) where-ever I can, sometimes Acrylic is the preferred material, as it’s light and very strong, but, with a coat of paint covering it, who can tell what’s under the paint.
Use a lot of different thickness Brass sheets cut to what-ever size’s I require, for any metal bits that will be painted.
I use steel, where it is left showing the true colour of Steel.
12 BA SQUARE Nuts are made from K & S square brass section, the 12 BA bolts are made Tobin Bronze Bronzing Rods ( much stronger then brass ) and I’ll use whatever I can to achieve the look I require.
The art work for the decals was done on an old XP computer and then used an ALPS MD5500 printer to print the decals
Any questions, then PLEASE ask.
