discussion Scriber for 1/48 panel lins

Panel lines on my 1/48 Airfix Spitfire Mk I/Ia are very narrow, and shallow. Is there a make of scriber capable of matching them by re-scribing?

I am guessing that you need to re-scribe lines that have been sanded away and not to turn the nice fine panel lines into trenches.

I've just made this kit Steve.I thought the panel lines were about right.What I should have done though is scribe the outlines of the ailerons,elevators and rudder.These are very understated and need defining more.They don't show up very well on my finished model.Dont know why I didn't do it as its something I normally do.

I use the Tamiya scribre, depending on how much pressure you apply depends on how deep or wide your scribes, I also use Dymo tape to keep my lines straight.

Yes, I need to describe panel lines (about 1/2 inch) which have been sanded aware. I think I will get the Tamiya one.

I cut out the door, meaning to use the separate one provided, mounted in the open position. But then I found that the sliding, middle, part of the canopy is not wide nor high enough to place over the rear part, so I had to fill the cutout I had made in the side of the fuselage and rescribe an inch or so. Lack of foresight!
