Hi all, what we have here is the Italeri's 1/35 Sd.Kfz.139 Marder III, not to much in the box but should look ok when it's finished. I know i build in 1:48 scale but a lot of you who normally make 1:35 have come to my scale so i've gone to your's and building something a wee bit bigger. Got some nice figures too, Dragon's Self-Propelled Gun Crew. This is going to be a nice simple build up with no added extras (honest) as i'm putting it on a small picture frame dio.

Have fun, John

That's going to look good when done!!! even if there isn't too much to the kit, the Dragon figures will liven it up!!! Their molds are some of the most

detailed I've ever seen. actually, for the value, Italeri is a nice model. I'll be getting my Shnellboot in the mail soon. I hope it's as detailed as everyone says it is. Happy building!!

Hi John, great looking kit bud, i love Marders, and i reckon with them figures you are ganna add this is ganna be a cracking build mate, have fun with it and i look forward to seeing it progress, regards Martin :-)

To tell you the truth fellas, i got five models for the GB but i can only do this one. Airfix IL-2 Sturmovik i'm disappointed in, Sd.kfz 179 Bergpanther that i'm saving for something special, two Tiger's that i'm waiting for new tracks and goodie bits and this one. Been doing some work on the Marder today, it needs some cleaning up but to be fair it's not a bad little kit. The figures that came with the Marder are funny, they look like zombies but the Dragon one's even come with PE parts

Have fun, John

Hi John

Great to have you in the GB. The Italeri Marder looks a good kit. Did you chose it deliberately over the Tamiya version? I've never built either so this will be an interesting for me. The dragon figures are a good choice too.look forward to this SP.

Cheers

Paul

When i brought the Bergpanther and the two Tiger's the fella threw the Marder in for free. So it was like a cat, it chose me lol.

Looks a nice kit john, im sure itll look fantastic in the dio. I know what you mean about the dragon figures being excellent, i picked up a box of four viet cong figures of theirs today at the car boot for 50p! the detail is very impressive ,theres even a bicycle in there too, only thing is i havent got a clue what im going to do with them!!! You cant pass up a bargain though eh!!? cheers tony

Cheers Tony, i know you'll find something for the viet cong figures mate. Downed Huey in the jungle would be nice, and big (but don't tell ya missis you got the idea from me though lol).

Got the business end done today, the 7.5 cm Pak 40 from what i've seen there's not much detail on the real gun anyway so i'm happy. Next job the hull.

Have fun, John

I'm sorry, thats all i can say. Now i'll tell you why i'm sorry, i lost all interest in this build thats why i haven't done much on it. The more i researched the Marder III Ausf H the more this kit had flaws, so i took a step back for a while. I'm back on the job though, the instructions tell you the side armour goe's straight along the side of the hull but in reality it slopes down to the front of the hull, sorted, it won't beat me (well, not just yet). Will post more pics tomorrow.

Now then, this i a good idea. Went to see the parents the other day and me Dad has made a screen door to keep the flys out. There was some left over so i nicked it off him, cut it down to size and you have camo netting

Sorry for not posting photos up when i said but i forgot i was at a car show over the weekend so i didn't have time but i'm here now and it's going together nicely (now).

The 7.5 cm Pak 40 is looking good and just needs some more weathering and is now in/on the hull, speaking of the hull the lower part has been painted so i can get the wheels and tracks on. I'm painting this one with the brush too with it being just one colour. At the moment i don't know how i'm having the base (gravel or in a field), i do know it's going to be summer of '43 in Kursk. I like the Scott's (Noble) idea of fake animal fur for grass so it's looking like a field. Right, i'll shut up now and let you have a look at the pics.

Have fun, John

Done some work over the past few days on the Marder as my new toy is apparently annoying the wife, well it is a RC Tiger with sound (oops!). Right the Marder, well i'm trying to make it look ok and i think it's working but the tracks was a real pain in the you know where. Done two of the four figures, painted with Vallejo, you know it's the only paint the wife does like "because it smells nice".I know how this model is going the look, summer 1943 Kursk, going for a resupply so it's a relaxed atmosphere (as relaxed as Kursk was at the time).

Have fun, John
