Thanks Joe, the Semovente series included several versions built on various chassis some even including anti-tank weapons
for the role of tank destroyer. They were basically turretless stopgap weapons of dubious worth.
They had mixed success rates but basically did not stand a chance against allied armor, mechanical unreliability was
also an issue.

Nice work jim , not familiar with this tank ( but then I am mainly aircraft ) , looks very compact , low silhouette . I bet it was easy to hide but a squeeze for the crew .

Thanks guys, actually it was not classified as a tank but a self propelled gun, it's low silhouette was one of it's few saving graces
much like the German Stugs ect...
It's air cooled engine was another plus for desert environs, they were indeed a tight fit for it's crew members.
It had decent speed and crosscountry abilities when they did not break down, most were abandoned due to lack of fuel
or track shedding when negotiating rocky terrain. It's thin armor was no help, the British 2pounder and the
American Stuart's 37mm holed them like Swiss cheese
