My first build. Sherman 1/35. This is my first attempt at a paint job of everything, for many years. The base is a basic plaster cast of rough terrain painted brown with hints of the white coming through, mud/snow effect. The diorama can be changed or improved as time goes on.
I haven’t bothered with figures before, usually just the vehicle/plane but decided to give it a go.
I added a map,and the foliage is a bit of rosemary. I also tried the muddy puddle resin. I didn’t go overboard.

Hi Gary
Well I'd say that's a great result. A really nice dio.
Jim

Came out very well IMHO. Map is good touch. PaulE

Great start - base looks just like my local area - really muddy with the underlying chalk showing through in places.

A couple of tips - please don't treat these as criticism - they are merely a couple of things that come from experience

think of how the stowage on the tank would stay on - just use some sewing thread to tie things on if you have any.

you can pre-colour the plaster with acrylic paints so any chips won't show white - I use cheap discount store brown or black paint mixed in with the powder

Mark you are spot on. I tried a couple of things but just couldn’t get the rope tie down to the right scale, trial and error, I won’t give up yet...lol.
I didn’t make the base it’s a purchased one but I get what you mean, I might try and make one one day.

That turned out nice Gary.......wish my first attempt had been as good as that. :thumb2: Rick H.

VERY nice model of a sherman an im surprised that no one has done a tank dio of duffy ( Telly Salvass ) an his bargain basement tank from the film battle of the bulge where he's had his turret shot off by the tigers ?

Great scene and a very nice return after some years to the hobby...well done Gary
